Guest chapter 16 . 7/5/2019
“...Eric was longing for summer and swimming in pools and lakes and how would Jackie look in a bathing suit? What? Where did that come from?...”

Such a common fan fiction move.

Wow he’s cute...wait why did I just think he’s cute?
I love her smile...wait why did I just think I love her smile?

I love better effort when displaying angst...wait why did I just think I love better effort?

Seriously he’s a grown ass man. I’m very sure he’s aware of why he wants to know what jackie would look like in a bathing suit. I know your trying to keep the implied romance and give Eric all the time in the world to heal but still...he’s an adult. Right now he’s a bit of an asshole towards his friends by assuming he’s better then them because he climbed a damn mountain and watched a zebra be born but I’m strangely sure he’s not so beyond the old gang that he stopped imagining chicks naked.
He’s really just as immature as his old friends. The way he willingly gives himself to the deaths of people he couldn’t have saved is disturbing. I kinda understand the death by lion considering he had to listen to it but the bus incident? I’ve always found that making a death all about yourself was the most selfish Behavior in the world. The guy died a horrible death! Why the hell is This idiot so stuck on it could have been me? Way to cheapen a friends death. Honestly he needs to grow up and realize death happens and the life he’s living is a form of death. It’s like he wishes he was dead because people die and he can’t stop death. Was he so sheltered he didn’t see death on the news? Or is he that self important? I’m not speaking from lack of experience. Hell I’ve been looked down on for not participating. A guy died literally a few feet from me and he was in my group. Everyone and the people who didn’t see had this whole “it could have been me attitude”, cried for him and forgot about it. Better in literally two days! So many of them talking about how it could have been them and walking up to the parents shaking their hands and apologizing for their loss. Most of them thankful it was their son and not themselves.

Eric is lacking a lot in character and it’s getting to be sad.

Oh what a wonderful chapter this was! Such a fabulous ending to a fabulous story!

The first moment in the chapter was so sweet, Jackie’s got a case of the fluttering butterflies too! How cute! Liked how she had become an adult and was more mature but as we see her hurrying to prepare for her big date with Eric we still see a bit of the old Jackie in there too—loved that! And Jackie wasn’t the only one hurrying to get ready, Eric is in a rush to get things set up and get himself looking presentable too but still takes a few moments to talk to Kitty, even telling her about the date with Jackie that night. Nice work with Kitty’s reaction too, loved the way Eric explained his feelings about Jackie though, it was so sweet and I think really showed Kitty how serious he was at that moment. Great stuff!

LOVE the moment where Eric picks her up, brining with him flowers *and* a corsage—how thoughtful! Must have remembered her saying it had been a while since she’d gotten flowers. And this stime we got Jackie’s reaction to Eric’s appearance, after he stopped hiding behind the flowers lol, loved the way he was described to be looking like he could have walked out of a magazine. The plans for the night that Eric set up sound lovely but he’s already thinking about their goodnight kiss lol, that’s sweet.

Really enjoyed reading about their date and it really does seem like they had a good time at dinner, but it was the slow dancing at the lake that I thought was so very adorable! The way you described the whole setting and the way they were holding each other made my heart melt. LOVED it! When Jackie asks if what they’re doing is going somewhere, it’s sweet that Eric tell her that he hopes it does, but also reminds her he might need time and things might have to move more slowly but Jackie doesn’t seem to mind because it’ll be worth it—awww!

Uh-o, Eric isn’t the only one moving out of the Forman house. So are Kelso and Betsy! While I’m sure Red is over the moon, I love that he tells Betsy to tell them more about how she’s getting her own room, so cute! But poor Kitty is heartbroken, but it’s sweet the way Betsy tries to cheer her up. Kelso and Kitty’s hug was really sweet and I’m glad Betsy will still be spending time with Kitty at the Forman house :)

Terrific next scene with Eric calling Jackie to see if Jackie wanted to come over to watch TV. Unfortunately Jackie already had plans with Fez and Hyde for movie night, but does offer to save some pizza for Eric and bring it over to him after. It’s very thoughtful and I think Eric appreciated it, but he had a whole other idea in mind at that moment.

Loved the scene over at Hyde’s apartment and them getting ready to watch Weird Science, nice to hear Rhonda and Fez are still going together. Hyde knowing who Jackie is saving the pizza for is so cute and so is him being protective of Jackie and her heart, really nice to see that these two could become friends. YAY! I was SO hoping that Eric would show up at the movie night and he did! Hyde and Fez’s excitement at seeing him there was so cute, love that he brought his own movie for them to watch—Star Wars of course lol Loved how as Eric entered Hyde’s place to hang out with his friends for movie night, it felt very close to the old days from before. LOVE THAT!

Terrific work once more! I really enjoyed reading it! Again very sorry it took so long to finish reading it and there were some long breaks between the reviews sometimes but I read, reviewed and loved each one of them whenever I came back to this story! Can’t wait to read more from, till then keep up the very great work!
nannygirl chapter 17 . 6/11/2018
Another purely fantastic chapter this was!

Liked how the chapter opened up with Eric at one of his sessions with Dr. Lake, it was clear that he was talking about Jackie but found it also really interesting to hear about the sort of guilt he’s feeling about being attracted to her, about being happy with someone who hs always been a friend and who he’s now thinking of as more than a friend. Dr. Lake’s advice sounds wise, maybe he really does need this trip to honor Connor, more than he realizes.

Eric planning to move out is another big step forward for him, that’s so great to see! And even if Kitty is sad to see him go, she knows it’s for the best and a good step towards getting his life to brand new, better, happier start. Loved when she tells Eric that a mother’s work is never done and in the next moment, we hear from another mother…Brooke’s mother! Some very clever foreshadowing there! Did not expect to hear from Mrs. Rockwell but I guess it’s nice that she wants to see Betsy and spend some time with her. Poor Kelso though, him not wanting Betsy’s grandmother must be coming out of fear, and remembering that Brooke’s mom didn’t like him much. Luckily Kitty and Eric are able to convince him that Betsy going to see her grandmother would be beneficial for both Betsy and Kelso, he’s get to spend more time with Mercy—lol same old Kelso!

It’s sweet that Jackie dropped Eric off at the airport, I love that he still tries to convince her to come with him. But she can’t and they both know it, this is his journey, but I’m sure Jackie will be waiting for him when he gets back. Their exchanges about missing each other was really cute.

Loved reading about the part with Eric and Dave getting to talk about the past, the good and the sad times. Eric even crying with Dave, that had to have made him feel a little better, I hope. It was really nice to see Eric talking about his traveling experiences again and doing so with a little more of a lighter note. But Connor and his death still weight heavily on their minds and Dave even brings up the idea that maybe Connor expected it to happen. It’s a heartbreaking thought, especially when paired up with what Eric remembered about his friend, but it also made Eric realize that maybe there really wasn’t anything he could have done to stop what happened to Connor. Think this trip for Connor was exactly what Eric needed.

Yay! Jackie was there to pick Eric up from the airport and that scene was just so cute! Love how excited they were to see each other, especially Eric feeling those very eager butterflies. And Eric right away telling Jackie that he’s ready to start living again and doing things with her, made me smile so much. Their plans for a next date sound marvelous! And they are both so excited, I’m excited for them!

It was also really nice to see Kelso and Betsy’s reunion. Poor Kelso had really been worried that Brooke’s mom wouldn’t want to give her back huh? The interactions with Kelso and Mrs. Rockwell were very nicely written, they were both still a bit guarded but you can tell they’re slowly starting to warm up to each other, for Betsy’s sake. Loved when she asked if Betsy could spend some weeks in the summer with her at her cabin with horses, Kelso’s first reaction was to ask if he could go too lol Oh kelso! Some things never change!

Marvelous job on this chapter once more! I so loved reading it and I can’t wait to see how you wrapped everything up in the next chapter! Till then keep up the good work!
nannygirl chapter 16 . 6/11/2018
At last made it back to finish reading this very super fic! I’m very sorry that it’s taken so long and also sorry that you’ll be getting some rambling reviews from me for the next few email alerts. I’ll try not to make them too long!

Loved reading that things seem to be going so well for the characters in the story but mostly Eric. He’s helping out Kelso and Betsy and their relationship, helping Fez get healthy, and even calling Jackie every Friday night just because he wanted to talk and check in on her—he’s happier these days it seems and that’s really nice to see. He’s come along way from the beginning of the story.

He even goes to visit Hyde at Grooves to pick up some new music. That was such a fabulous scene! You did a wonderful job at capturing their voices during their exchange especially when talking about Jackie. Hyde’s already sensing that there might be something forming between Eric and her and teasingly asks if Eric is asking his permission to see her lol As Eric points out not only did they break up but Hyde had gotten married too, to which Hyde has his own explanation. That whole ‘henceforth’ bit was too funny! Another part that made me smile was when Eric was talking about how happy Betsy and Kelso are that it makes Hyde ask if Eric is happy too lol While Eric couldn’t say that yes he was happy now, I love that he says that he’s learning to be happy again.

A great scene with Fez and Eric in the gym, it really does seem like Fez is doing much better these days, in a better, healthier shape. But there’s still room for improvement and Eric isn’t ready to let his friend wrap things up just yet, telling him they can now start running together. Fez trying to get out of it because it was cold, until Eric brings up the point of running up the bleachers lol—Great stuff!

Next part of the chapter was really nice to read. LOVED this line here: “The sessions with Dr. Lake were cathartic and necessary, but Jackie gave him hope.” And the plans for Eric going to Oregon to honor his friend Connor and visit with old friends is a lovely idea. It’s sweet that he invites Jackie to go but like she told him, this trip is for him. I bet she goes with him on the next one though! The whole part about the two flirting and what kinds of things Jackie hoped they could do one day, they al sounded great but I especially loved last one about Eric joining them for movie night. Very sweet.

It was great fun seeing Eric playing matchmaker with Rhonda and Fez was really fun to see! When it started off with Eric talking to Rhonda about the blind date I was so hoping it would be with Fez, couldn’t stop smiling when we saw Eric talking to Fez about it in the very next scene. Also Fez thinking his date would be blind made me smile.

Meanwhile Kelso is getting luck in love too, and all on his own, well maybe with some help from Betsy. Mercy sounds like a very nice woman, sort of reminds me of Brooke in a way and I loved that Betsy can see this too. Betsy liking Mercy and the feeling being mutual really is the best part!

Glad to see that Rhonda and Fez’s date seemed to go so well, lol they really were a cute pair on the show. Loved the way you brought them back together again. With Fez and Rhonda preoccupied, Eric and Jackie have the night to themselves. Eric’s reaction to Jackie’s look was sweet and I loved the moment where he gave her flowers, her reaction was adorable. Can’t wait to see how the rest of their valentines night goes!

Terrific work once more! So glad that things are getting a little better for everyone, hope it continues to go this way! Looking forward to reading more! Till then keep up the wonderful work!
Goldenbassets chapter 17 . 1/10/2018
Oh I got butterflies reading about Jackie and Eric's reunion at the airport!

Kelso has grown so much with Betsy. What a brave little girl having her mommy taken from her, but it's a great way for her and Eric to bond. I'm really glad we didn't have to read through that initial pain though! That would have been so hard. I'm glad Kitty and Red let Kelso and Betsy stay with them until they can get back on their feet. Great role models and a stable home for them both. And Stuffy gets to see his Shorty too!
Goldenbassets chapter 14 . 1/10/2018
It's nice to see Jackie and Hyde friendly after all they've gone through. Hyde still protective yet able to want to see her happy and want her to move on.

I'm just going to say you write the best Jackie and Eric fanfiction.
Goldenbassets chapter 18 . 9/18/2017
I loved this! Eric and Betsy as Stuffy and Shorty had the best relationship. Understanding each other on a level no one else could. And Jackie was the sweetest Godmother to Betsy! I've always been a hardcore Jackie and Hyde girl but this story has me ready to switch to team Jackie and Eric. So good. I loved it.
nannygirl chapter 15 . 9/17/2017
This chapter was SO good!

Nice to see Eric is still going to see Dr. Lake and that overall things are going well. Some things he’s still struggling with but Dr. Lake is helping him through it and the journal thing sounds like a really good idea. I was starting to wonder if it might cause a problem if someone found it but it looks like Eric’s already thinking ahead and plans to burn it once he’s written everything out lol

Eric is getting to visit with more of his friends, yay! This time we see him hanging out with Fez and he’s not just spending time with his old friend here he’s taking the time to try to work with him on getting fit and healthy again. It really would be something Eric would try to do, keeping his friends in good shape. I like how he invites Fez to work out with him, saying that he already does it himself—I’m guessing a way to deal with his PTSD maybe—and inviting Fez into that is a big step but I think Eric realizes that they could really help each other. Fez not being too happy about it but slowly realizing that Eric was right was great. I loved his reaction to finding out about Rhonda too, I’m rooting for those two! And the aerobics lol That would totally be something I could see Fez into but I wonder how Eric will feel about it Lol And once again we hear about how people are seeing that Eric is very different from how he was before he left, but I liked how we see Fez saying that it’s a good different and even Eric has to agree, even though being away from home gave him some trauma that’s effected his everyday life I don’t think he would have traded anything for it.

Loved how when Eric was bored and lonely he went off to look for Jackie, so sweet! Too bad Jackie was out of town though. Nice hear about how booming her business was and how she even got to go away to fancy beauty shows and stuff but imagining the disappointed look on Eric’s face, poor guy. Did enjoy his visit with Fez though, they’re already doing their work outs. And when he asks if Eric plans on kissing Jackie again lol I can see that busy salon getting a bit more quieter lol but Eric handles it very well and tells them that it’s between him and Jackie and then leaves, smiling because he knows that it won’t bother him if people were talking about him the way it might have before—yay!

The scene with Jackie arriving home, tired and cold, and finding those flowers at her door—loved that! Loved even more that she knew right away who they were from and soon he was calling her too! Their exchange over the phone was just adorable and I really like dhwo it lead up to them talking about Christmas and what had happened after Eric gave her the bracelet. Glad that Jackie just came right out and said the truth about her urge for a cigarette and driving around to find sunflower seeds. Of course I’m even happier that Eric believe her and knows she’s telling the truth—yay! And more yays when they start talking about spending New Years Eve together! Cute moment with their good nights too! “"Good night Eric….I mean good night Jackie." He joked.”—Aww!

Eric wanting to borrow Betsy for New Year’s Eve was a clever idea! It would allow him and Jackie to spend time together without letting thing go to far or too fast and it would also give Betsy a nice holiday too. And free Kelso to have some fun too and maybe go on a date with a girl from work I’m glad Kelso seemed to be okay with it, a little more than okay with it but that’s Kelso for you lol and at least h did warn Eric about not giving Betsy too much candy. He’s getting better too, it’s just taking a bit more time.

Going to the Ice Capades for New Year’s sounds like so much fun! Betsy must have enjoyed herself and Eric didn’t feel too anxious, Jackie wasn’t able to smoke and they were all able to spend time together—think it worked out for everyone! I liked how they ended up back at Jackie’s apartment after the Ice Capades and Eric realizing that he was in Jackie’s apartment was so cute but what I loved most was that he was already so comfortable there and it wasn’t even a place he had been too often. It was really nice to see. The cute little banter with Eric and Jackie over coffee was so precious! And when they decided to watch the New Years eve special too—I loved Jackie explaining to Eric all the new artist and familiar faces too. Their New Years Eve kiss—LOOOOVVVEEDD! Even the way it was interrupted was so cute Betsy complaining about the TV being too loud lol Great stuff! The exchange about him learning stuff in Egypt was so great too! I was wondering if Betsy had realized that they had bene kissing but her asking Eric answered my question, I loved how they explained it was tradition and then Eric asking for a kiss on his cheek for New Years was adorable! Loved their goodnights there too!

And the last bit of the chapter was great! Think it’s set the year off with a very hopeful note which is so great!

Nice work on this chapter once again! I really enjoyed reading it, looking forward to reading more and hope to do so again very soon! Till then keep up the very fabulous work!
nannygirl chapter 14 . 9/17/2017
Another very great chapter!

Loved the way the chapter started off with Jackie thinking about her date with Eric and how much dancing they had done together. That was so sweet, Jackie got her dance and more! Imagining the two of them on the dance floor made me smile. But then the daydreams of Jackie’s are interrupted by Eric calling and it’s not with the most romantic intention. He’s calling to apologize, and not just apologize but apologize for kissing her. I can see that as being something Jackie might get upset or offended by but at least she gave Eric the chance to explain himself and he does, even telling her how he’s started seeing Dr. Lake. His big speech to her was so wonderfully written, I loved it. Especially that part where he says this at the end: “And honestly, that's gonna take some time and I hope that you are….I hope that you could maybe wait around…you know, for me to be a better man." Poor guys left hanging like that but then Jackei does reply telling him how he’d been an idiot and pointing out all the little things she’d done to let him know she liked him, signals he had pretty much missed and had him realizing maybe he really was a idiot lol Terrific line here: “He had champagne offered to him and yet he asked for a glass of water.” The way Jackie lets him know she’ll give him another chance does sound very much like Jackie lol, she wants something pretty for Christmas lol Great stuff!

Reading about Betsy during the holiday season was very much bittersweet, those around her are trying so hard to give her a good Christmas and in some ways they do. All the gifts she got and Red even dressing up as Santa, but it can’t give the girl what she really wants. Her mom. Poor thing. It was really nice o see Kelso have a more mature moment with his daughter when they talked about going to visit Brooke’s grave. I have a feeling going to the grave was also very important to Kelso too. Loved Betsy’s idea of taking Christmas tree branches instead of flowers. And the moment between Kelso and his dad was also very nice.

It’s too bad Jackie hadn’t been there but she had been with her own family, or at least her father. This was another very well written line here that really captured the Burkhart family I thought: “Pamela Burkhart would always flit in and out of her daughter's life, but Jack Burkhart wasn't going anywhere for a while.” And at least se got to go to The Forman house afterwards, even getting some leftover from the holiday meal. Love how she waits to talk to Eric too, can’t let the holiday pass without these two seeing each other.

When Eric does get back home, I liked that he and Kelso had a nice moment too, maybe Kelso acting more like a dad and less like a kid is that Christmas miracle that Betsy needed. Terrific moment when Eric goes down to the basement and see Goldilocks visiting lol their conversation about Eric going with Betsy and Kelso to Brooke’s grave was a really nice read, I’m glad that Eric even took the time to talk to Connor too. The therapy already seems to be helping—liked how Jackie pointed this out: “You and Betsy can grieve together, but for different people." Another very fabulous part was Jackie talking about Kelso and Brooke’s relationship too and how things had been when he was just a weekend dad.

The exchange of gifts between Eric and Jackie was just the best! I loved the exchange about why her gift had been hidden under his pillow lol and then finding out what they has gotten each other was so much fun! Eric got a stylish tie that would go right with his wardrobe, something Jackie had definitely picked up on and the bracelet that Eric gave her…Wow! That sounds just soo beautiful! It must have a lot of meaning to him too and I love that he gives it to her. I was sure a kiss was following until Jackie had the sudden urge for a smoke—darn it! Lol Poor Eric though is now left all confused but hopefully he’ll understand if she explains to help what had happened. I’m hoping he will!

Loved the last part of the chapter, Eric has finally gone to visit with Hyde! Yay! That makes me so happy, they had been so close before, I’m glad Eric is taking some more steps in getting back parts of his old life. Like his friends and Hyde’s case, his family. Loved that. It was also nice to see that they were pretty much able to pick up right where they left off although did have a sort of new topic of discussion, Jackie. Loved seeing how protective Hyde was of Jackie in that scene, brought a smile to my face. That ending too with Eric realizing how nice this all was for him, yay!

Wonderful work once more, I really enjoyed reading this chapter and look forward to reading more soon! Till then keep up the nice work!
nannygirl chapter 13 . 9/17/2017
Great work on this chapter!

It was so nice to see that Eric had a peaceful sleep and wasn’t woken up by any bad nightmares and instead by a very happy little girl who was excited to share about the tooth fairy visiting her. Betsy was just so cute and Kelso made me laugh while looking for the tooth fairy, thinking that she must have gotten stuck in the vent lol, oh Kelso. Eric trying to explain to Kelso the truth behind the tooth fairy was great and funny with Kelso’s reaction and him protesting that there really was a Santa Claus, maybe a sort of miracle will happen during the holiday that might make Eric and especially Betsy believe again, not just in Santa but that things would work out.

Loved the phone call that Betsy and Eric made to Jackie and the moments before that with Jackie in her apartment were also great. She’s got a shopping spree in mind and with Eric’s reminder of their upcoming plans for the pageant and dance, she’s gonna need to buy something for herself along with all the other holiday presents for everyone else!

Reading about Eric and his class getting ready for the holiday and show was so much fun to read, especially the part with them decorating the place and the Charlie Brown tree with paper clips. So cute. And Eric made an appointment with Dr. Lake! That’s such a big, and good step, for him! Yay! I hope to goes well for him.

The scene over at Jackie’s salon with Fez and her client was terrific! I was wondering if she would end up talking about the kiss with anyone and Fez would probably be the safest choice, worst thing she’d have to worry about with him was him asking too personal questions about the kiss lol He didn’t say the greatest thing when he compared Jackie and Donna, I’m glad Jackie’s customer stood up for her. Does make me curious if maybe we are getting close to seeing Donna again. Really liked what was discussed about how different people get, Jackie points out that Eric isn’t the same Eric from before, even Fez can see this…thought not in the same way Jackie has. And Jackie’s client pointing out the successful ways Jackie has changed was really nice to see, I’m glad someone could point that out to her.

Wonderfully written scene where Eric shows up at Dr. Lake’s office. You could really feel how nervous he was about the whole thing but he knows deep down he can’t go on the way he’s been going on. He needs to work through this for himself and for Betsy. I really love that he’s still thinking about Betsy here too, evne thinking that they could bond this way. Very sweet. Like with Jackie, I’m glad that Betsy has someone to care and think about her even if it’s not the person who should be, her dad.

Great scene at the auditorium for the Christmas show! Such vivid descriptions of Eric and his class up on stage and Jackie watching on so proudly, both for Eric and for her painted scenery I’m sure lol The singing of Oh Christmas tree seems to have greatly improved which was great! And the moment between Eric and Jackie at the end of the show was really sweet, loved this exchange here: “"How'd they do?" Eric asked urgently. Jackie stood up and whispered, "They were great….the scenery was better." She joked. Eric blinked. "What?" Cute and funny and also so very in character! Loved that, it’s too bad Jackie had to rush off but they had the plans to attend the party together so the night wasn’t over! Sounds like it was just getting started with a little intermission with Jackie leaving to visit Betsy’s school play too.

Jackie’s dress sounds so pretty! And its one that it looks like Eric definitely approves of! Her reply to his compliment about being lucky she was his date was so like Jackie Burkhart lol Great stuff! I really like dhearing about Betsy’s play too, although it was sad to hear that not only was Kelso unable to make the show but he was gonna make Betsy take the bus back to the house. Oh Kelso. Thank goodness for Jackie. The way you wrote them getting into the car and Jackie take the time to appreciate Eric’s appearance too was all so wonderfully written!

LOVED the parts at the party! Could see the whole thing like it was playing on my TV screen, the whole party scene and surroundings were wonderfully written. And when the swarm of PTA ladies starts following them and sorta has Eric on edge I LOVED the way Jackie got them to back off and did so without a second thought, that was awesome! And the added part about wanting her dance now was a fabulous touch!

Their goodnight at the door was pretty adorable. They were both drunk and flirty and really just enjoying each others company. I’m glad Jackie and Eric sorta confronted the whole Rhonda thing too, so that’s something they and we readers don’t have to worry about. The whole bit about Eric being a cupcake was nicely put too, never thought about that! There might not have been any good night kiss but there was a nice hug that left Eric smiling, while he was out in public, yay! Great stuff!

Terrific work on this chapter once more, I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to reading more and hope to do so soon!
