I'm very sad to see this story discontinued it is really quite unique in how it portrays Harry's struggle for independance so I'm gonna follow it anyway just in case you decide to counitnue it.

More realistic than other similar stories where Harry sided with Voldemort merely because of the abuses from the Dursleys forgetting that Voldemort killed his parents. In your story, the Potters betrayed their son to save their lives.

This is a really interesting story, a good alternative take on the well-trodden Voldemort-raises-Harry plotline. I'm still yet to work out what to make of James and Lily... at face value, they seem very callous characters (cutting a deal to give Harry to Voldemort and effectively bankrupting the old pureblood families), but given you seem to be avoiding outright character bashing, I wonder if there's more to the story. Dumbledore is unusually well characterised; he just about makes the story what it is, so it's a pity he will be out of the picture soon if he isn't already. The toughest thing to swallow is the fact that from being utterly loyal to Voldemort at the start of the story, Harry quickly becomes independent for what seems to be no reason at all - yes, he learns about the Horcruxes in chapter seven, but at that point he seems to have already decided he's not going to follow Voldemort. You could probably have shown a bit more of that process. All the same, it doesn't detract from the thrust of the story too much.

It has been a while since the last update so I hope you're still planning on continuing this story - quality of course is better than quantity, though, so take as much time as you need.

You wrote an interesting story and I enjoyed it.
I wish there was more interaction between Harry and Eva though. To me, it feels like everyone is a background character.

Also, the sudden time skip in this chapter disoriented me and makes everything feel rushed.
