I'm interested how much stopping power Ruby's sniper has against armored targets. That thing is at least as strong as a 50 cal.

It would be also be funny to see Ruby punch a normal human. Even if she isn't the strongest in Remnant, she is still strong enough to whip her scythe around like a toothpick.

When you mention the rifles looking old, it comes off as a little confusing given who the narrator is. At the time it felt like the Cpt. was the narrator at the time so for him to refer to what was at the time the top of the line kit old, it feels a little off.

Also, these guys are army, they went to basic training. Boot camp is something that the Marines have. It wouldn't be too accurate to refer to training as Boot for soldiers.

So far, I'm glad you decided to expand from this being a one shot to an actual story. I wish you the best of skill and keep up the good work.

Wow, a mix between RWBY and World War Two!? What a creative and interesting idea, I'd like to see this story in the form of a full fanfic.

Realistically speaking Ruby would probably have been sent to one of the ships waiting off the coast before heading to London, but there is great chaos in war and she might have had time to be sent away. But she is under the protective fire of Texas and Arkansas, and Barker seems to be a good guy.

Still no matter what Ruby will not return home unscathed.

Please continue! I love the idea of Ruby actually being in a war located on Earth. This will open up her eyes to the destructiveness of war and might actually prepare her for the battle in Beacon. I must ask though of how her disapperance might affect the timeline in the RWBYverse. Is there a time difference?
