DschingisKhan chapter 4 . 11/7/2018 The "Possessions" bit makes sense, in retrospect. Minako reminds me somewhat of another incarnation I read who was a hardcore pacifist. By the by, Florence Nightingale is an excellent fit for Temperance, wouldn't you agree? ;) |
Zero kami no mu chapter 4 . 5/1/2018 nice story. i could probably think of one who fits death arcana well and judgement and possibly sun(tho the sun one is only because of who it is. |
xirons20 chapter 2 . 4/23/2018 I understand that Kiyohime uses her fan but she can also use a nagitama. |
Ame no Ryuubi chapter 4 . 4/5/2018 Its a really interesting story keep it up I am looking forward to the rest. |
Lux chapter 4 . 4/4/2018 The idea of possession is intriguing, I don't think I've seen something like it done for Persona when most would have Minato after his ordeal ascend as a servant and start the story in Nasuverse. So the fact that you're doing something new for the SMT-side is commendable, especially with a FeMC. Since this is a crossover with Nasuverse however, I find the lack of any interaction between Minako and her Personas disappointing, especially when you already made them sentient. And it's understandable that she might not be able to handle the pressure, at this point in time, but I do hope to see something happen between Minako and her Personas, considering F/SN and other derivative works show a developing bond between master and servant (which the relationship might as well be for normal persona-users since they're the one commanding their personas). My other criticism would be the tendency to tell and not show, there are details that get mentioned when they can be skipped or have no bearing which makes other important details related to the story get bogged down. Also, lack of description to set the tone or atmosphere for a scene, or even showing the body language itself for a character to demonstrate how they feel without the need to tell. And can you please shorten the long walls of text? It is pretty simple to press enter before starting another paragraph. I'm afraid this is as much as I can offer in terms of criticism since I'm not much of a writer, although you might try posting to Space Battles or Sufficient Velocity where they have dedicated creative forums for stories. Just be aware that each have their own cultures and rules for postings. I'll be looking forward to the next chapters. |
Daemon of Crawling Tentacles chapter 4 . 4/3/2018 Hey, if you want I can help you place some Servants to some of arcana, cause each arcana has a meaning, like Heirophant which is an Arcana closely related to experience and familiarity which can also be mistaken as the Lovers, The Temperance is like the three faces of Asura which govern emotions, Chariot is closely related to being helpful, Towers is about being resolute, Devil is the evil that sways you, well that's all the thing I can say.. hopefully it will be helpfully and if it is PM me. |
Ravenext chapter 4 . 4/2/2018 I choose Medb on either Lovers or Chariot |
jhellou chapter 4 . 4/2/2018 I'm glad you updated! this chapter is great :) |
rickyp01 chapter 4 . 4/2/2018 I have one suggestion: Asterios, he's canonically a master navigator and wayfinder making him great for Tartarus, i think he'd fit with the Moon arcana (the whole illusion "dont Judge a book by its cover" deal) maybe fortune (the "wishes unreachable due to forces beyond his controll" theme fits him perfectly) |
rickyp01 chapter 3 . 4/2/2018 If i remember right the hanged man arcana represents self-secrifice, so i'd recomend a Martyr-type character. take note that it represents a WILLING sacrifice, so no Angra Mainyu, more someone like Emiya. Empress, representing femininity and motherhood and all the qualities stereotypically assigned to those concepts, I feel that Tamamo would probably fit well, (though she could fit the Priestess decently as well,) also: Irisviel, Now here's an off-the wall suggestion: Take Solomon for the Priestess, seeing as its HIS TEMPLE that's portrayed in the background (also the whole inner wisdom stuff) otherwise he'd make a good hermit alongside Merlin. Tower, misfortune and bad luck, you need someone whose life truly sucked. The persian beggar ritualy sacrificed and tortured for most of human history should DEFINITLY suffice, Angra gets my suggestion. now Strength typically represents the fight between baser impulses and what's actually good for you. I want to suggest Jack the ripper here because her whole "split personality, hivemind" type of deal fits amazingly well with the whole "we want mother's love, but we also want revenge for our deaths". Otherwise the whole "defining choice" thing she has going on would also fit the lovers verry well, Temperance, the merger of opposites, now here's a wild one: King Goetia would be perfect (ALSO OP as hell, but as an amalgamation of 72 seperate beings into one "perfect lifeform" i felt morally obliged to mention him) otherwise i'd suggest going for Jekyll and Hyde, or Chloe (being an amalgamation of two souls fused together through magic fits right?) for the star arcana, which represents the concepts of hope and healing i'd suggest Nightingale, justice, represents a lot of things, the Obvious question of "what is right", but it also represents karma, the effects of your actions coming back to you eventually, i feel like suggesting Kiritsugu here, for priestess or the hermit, there's Osakaba-Hime. |
jmspikey chapter 4 . 4/2/2018 man playing P4 and P5 made forget that P3 crew did not have a good team dynamic going on I mean I get it they were essentially forced into it unlike the P4 and P5 crew which chose to fight. still nice chapter. |
Sgn chapter 3 . 12/15/2017 I love this |
Len Crimson chapter 3 . 4/7/2017 I love this story. Too bad I dont follow fate/stay. |
Penguindom chapter 2 . 4/1/2017 It cut right in the middle of the copy paste! I hate when it does that ! anyways ! Temperance ! Temperance: Diarmuid/tristan/lancelot (The goddamned headache!) Portrayed as a woman with angel wings mixing up the water of two cups, one blue, the other red, the Temperance Arcana is a symbol of synthesis, prudence, harmony, and the merging of opposites. I will not lie, that one was the hardest of the lot, by far. I settle on the 'duty against will' approach, and that gave me three servants, all with the same problem, which is love vs duty. Not much to say, those three are infamous for the same things. THough, the most tragic, and therefore my favorite, would be diarmuid, because his hand was actually forced. And he was the one before all of them. Devil: Gilgamesh (Didn't see that one coming, did you?) The negative aspect of the Devil Arcana represents the urge to do selfish, impulsive, violent things, and being a slave to ones' own impulse and feelings. Occasionally, it is also portrayed as a symbol of temptation. The positive aspect, however, represents a healthy bond or commitment. Gil is selfish, arrogant, violent, terrifying, and his tempting Kirei into killing his master and embracing his dark impulses still gives me chills. His Egomania is so strong he shakes off Angra mainyu ( All of the worlds that ever were, are and will be commited by mankind) in fate/zero, and outright punched them in the vagina in Extra CCC. Speaking of CCC, we get to see the good aspects of his arcana, as he acts as a great motivator and enabler for his master, while remaning an over the top prima donna. Once the MC gains his trust, he always goes all out for his sake, even breaking the trend and switching priorities, from his collection to the MC (His sacrificing most of his treasury to spare Hakuno from Enkidu's fate made me squee like the fangirl I am, I admit it, and redeemed him in my eyes. He's still an asshole , though.). If you aren't fully commited on objective he approves of (say, kick a goddess in her nonexistent teeth), he's not worth the trouble he causes. Tower: Angra Mainyu (DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM *kracka-thoom**ominous chanting*) The Tower Arcana is commonly associated to overly arrogant, prejudiced and authoritarian organization, which walk to their own ironic demise. Furthermore, it is also more generically used as an omen of doom and disaster. It can be seen as the worst card of the deck, as it rarely has a positive meaning. A pure young man sacrificed by mankind in order to seal off all the evils of the world. In order to absolve themselves from the sins of their own deeds, the authorities meddled with something they really shouldn't have. And HE is the result. While he bears no ill will personally towards humans, he will also fulfill his role. Pride goes before fall, after all. Star: Jeanne d'Arc (A star is bright, but still burns out. Ironic as hell with that one) The Star Arcana is also commonly associated with hope, self-confidence, faith, altruism, luck, generosity, peace and joy. The velvet room attendant mentions its impending death its most tragic feature. Jeanne was a heronie with a great destiny ahead of her, she gave hope to a country on the verge of defeat and gave her divine mission her entire being, even if she faltered, she still rose back and continued, always harder and more determined. Even if it did end up costing her her life. Her dedication is especialy palpable in her type-moon design, because La pucelle, even if is her strongest noble phantasm, will cost her her life if used. Her martyr at the englishmen's hands caused Gilles de Rais to fall into darkness, like a world that lost its sun. Moon: Hans Christian Andersen (A more modern one, to shake things up) The Moon Arcana is associated with creativity, inspiration, dreams, madness, illusions, fear, fantasy, the subconscious, and trickery. In tarot readings, it can also represent being attuned subconsciously to the world around, gaining the ability to sense things without being told about them or without anyone else knowing (which means that some identify this Arcana with psychic energy). It's a bit of a mix between his biography and his Fate elements. A relatively known writer, he then, in a move that could be considered masochistic by some, started writing fairy tales. Dark one, in which he expressed his dark, hopeless feelings, wrapped in pretty words. According to the type moon theory, he did love, once, but his own self consciousness/illusions kept him from confessing them properly. As a Caster, he is represented as a 10 years old with a grown man's voice, because children are more sensitive than adults, he gains a greater level of observation and understanding. He's introverted, passive, dour and pessimistic (Hello Aragaki-senpai!), but also self assured. "I want to give a final light to the lives of people who were abandoned by even God," is the core principle of this andersen, quitte fitting of the moon in the night sky. Sun: (I don't know about that 'suggestion accepted', does that mean it's decided or...?) Empress Nero (Can't make a list with Tamamo without her favorite rival now? The just wouldn't be fair!) The Sun symbolizes happiness, joy, energy, optimism, and accomplishment. Occasionally, it is also associated with one's initial happiness. Characters of the Sun Arcana almost always (ironically) find themselves in terrible situations, the situation betrays the underlying optimism present in nearly all of them. Also, as the Sun Arcana portrays accomplishment, some of these characters have deep thoughts about the meaning of life and manage to find their answers. Type moon Nero was only a tool for her mother to seize control over the roman empire. She was poisoned and suffered terrible headaches unless she got her medicine from said person. She loved her people and art over anything else. And yet, because she could not understand them, they rebelled, and she ended up taking her own life. Despite this, Nero made her peace with life, and is a generally cheerful, helpful servant. She does haver her insecurities concerning her reputation, (notably shown when she confessed to the MC in Extra) but she still carries on with her own desires. Judgement: Gautama Buddha (Don't you hate it when Type moon sends you overpowered servants to beat you up? I sure did in Fate/Extra when I learned who that one was!) The Judgement Arcana, in tarot, is associated with realizing one's calling, gaining a deep understanding of life, and a feeling of acceptance and absolution. The most enlightened of men, just crack open his wiki page, too lazy to copy paste ! |
Penguindom chapter 1 . 4/1/2017 Wait, no student council no Hidetoshi ? Noooooo! His confession was so cute Q_Q! (Only regret was we didn't get to date him (Or junpei) cause he chickened out too long). It's rather sad when you think of it, if his SL is maxed, then, on the last day of the game, he confesses, and you die on the same day. For the servants, this is going to be a long one, so I'll be putting the short version first and the explanation afterwards. So The short list is : Boudicca (Fate GO as rider) for Empress Arcana, William Shakespeare (Caster Fate/Apocrypha) for Hierophant Arcana, Arthur Pendragon(Saber Fate/prototype) OR Tamamo no Mae (Fate extra) for Lovers arcana, Dr. Jekyll (Assassin in Fate/GO) for Justice Arcana, Medea (Caster in Fate/SN) for Hermit Arcana, Enkidu (Lancer in Fate/SF) for Fortune Arcana, Siegfried (Saber for Fate/Apocrypha) for Strength Arcana, Karna (Lancer for Fate/Apocrypha) for Hanged Man Arcana, Lancelot(Saber Fate/GO) OR Tristan (Archer Fate/GO) Or Diarmuid (Lancer Fate/Zero) for Temperance Arcana, Gilgamesh (Archer Fate/Extra CCC) for Devil Arcana, Angra Mainyu (Avenger Fate/HA) for Tower Arcana, Jeanne d'arc (Ruler Fate/Apocrypha) for Star Arcana, Hans christian Andersen (Caster Fate/Extra CCC) for Moon Arcana, Buddha (Saver Fate/Extra) for Judgement Arcana. The servants I look the most forward to seeing: Shakespeare: Yes, all my yes! Protagonist power! Fourth wall breaking! Whacky author-sama! Arthur Pendragon: It's not narcissism okay FeMC?! It's okay to go all doki doki for him! More seriously though, he'd be a good foil for the one coming after Enkidu. Fate/Prototype go! The chivalrous angel on the right shoulder to be the counter to the devious devil sitting on the left. Though, if he's game, most men will lose their appeal, seriously, FeMC has really bad luck when it comes to prospective lovers (Akihiko: you're like my dead sister! Shinjiro: I'm dangerous! stay away! also coma. Ken: I'm ten! Ryoji: I love you! Forbidden love! Ah, I'm also going to destroy the world.) Enkidu: The links between Enkidu and Ryoji are too obvious and ironic to pass. Seriously, they were MADE for eachother. Which brings us to the other one. Gilgamesh: If the fact the FeMC also houses Enkidu wasn't enough, as the story rolls out, Gil discovers that her inhuman best friend is a puppet to the gods that tried to free himself from his fate, only to fall at the hands of an uncaring goddess, and that FeMC is , in that aspect, another him without all of his cheats. How's THAT ONE going to go for him, I wonder? That would be good for a wonderfully complicated love/hate relationship. Because we know gil, it's all about love/hate with him. Plus, Gilgamesh versus Arthur! Fate/Prototype Go! And here comes the big list! Empress: Boudicca (Anti-Anime development! The stronger she gets, the more clothes she wears!) In tarot readings, the Empress represents mothers, prosperity, creativity, sexuality, abundance, fertility, protection, and comfort I don't suggest Nero, because she lacked some aspects Boudicca didn't, namely, her motherly qualities. Boudicca was a charismatic queen, but she was also a mother, and, while a leader, she only took the arms when harm befell her daughters. In fate/GO, she acts halfway between a mother and a big sister, and she harbors a nurturing personality. Hierophant: William Shakespeare (All the world's a stage! Ultimate Playwright, meet Ultimate Actress!) The Hierophant represents education, authority, conservatism, obedience to rules and relationship with the divine. Characters of the Hierophant Arcana are often older than the protagonist, and are typically quite wise and logical. When Igor Spoke of Persona being masks one wears to face the world, the theatrical implications were obvious. Shakespeare sees life as a grand play, but instead of being an actor, he sees himself as an "authorial' Third party. In that way, he sees the world as it is, gaining strong insight about everything (patterns, habits, cycles that repeat) and is fond of terms like 'death flagging'. He has a strong love for his own works and worries for their legacies, and love above all else people that are out of the ordinary. He is a gentleman, a trickster and a drama queen. Though, should things differ from the 'script', all hells will likely break loose. Lovers: Arthur Pendragon (Everyone's husbando) OR Tamamo no Mae (Everyone's waifu) The lovers arcana has two major meanings, which is why I hesitate between two characters: In tarot readings, the Lovers Arcana initially represented two paths life could lead to, and thus a symbol of standing at a crossroad and needing to make a decision. Today, however, it is portrayed more of a symbol of love and romantic relationships, although it can also be a symbol of finding agreement with an ordinary friend or even two conflicting elements within. On one hand, the aspect of the choice of the lovers arcana reminds me of the sword in the stone, arthur's fate could have gone either way, and it's actually a pretty big deal in fate/stay night and fate/zero, with arturia trying to keep her past self from taking the sword. I feel Arthur, rather than arturia fits the lovers arcana better because his personnality is more mature, brighter and more confident. He's supposedly very charismatic/popular, and also, lovers arcana member usually are main love interests in the persona series. FeMC is canonically hetero. On the other hand, Tamamo does also fit the arcana, because the only reason Amaterasu descended on earth as tamamo was because she wanted to know the love mortals felt, but more than that, she wanted people to not lover her with the detached love givent to the gods, but rather the intense love people give to their dearest one. Her personnality is energic, cheerful, and otherwise rather Idol-like, if slightly spoiled. Justice: Dr. Jekyll (Honestly the best fit?) Portrayed as a woman holding a sword and balance, the Justice Arcana symbolizes a strict allegory of justice, objectivity, rationality and analysis. Dr Jekyll in fate/GO is portrayed as an optimistic, introspective young man who deeply believed in justice and goodness in humankind, so much in fact, that he ended up trying to expell the 'evil' inside of him using scientific methods. He even managed to do it. Somewhat. (just start running if his eyes become red and he laughes) Hermit: Medea (Yes, THAT medea) Mythological figures associated with the Hermit Arcana are usually hermits themselves, or are otherwise figures or deities that exist and operate behind the scenes. Similarly, Hermit Arcana characters share the commonality of placing themselves in situations that hide them from the public eye. Hermit individuals hide away from others or act in more supportive roles rather than putting themselves in the spotlight. While that choice might seem unorthodox, Medea acts more as a support and enabler than as a front line fighter. Be it in her legend, or actions as a servant. Because she was traumatized by Jason's betrayal, she adopted a more withdrawn atitude, and while cruel and manipulative to people who don't know her, she has a critical weakness to earnest and honest people (W-What? No I didn't choose her because I thought it would be hilarious to see her interact with Minako!) She is a recluse, an experienced and erudite woman, and has a lot of insight -if pessimistic- about the world that surrounds her. Fortune: Enkidu (*sobs* Ryojiiiii*Waaaaaa*) The Fortune Arcana is portrayed by the Wheel of Fortune and symbolizes fate, luck, fortune and opportunity. Human characters of the Fortune Arcana are usually individuals who attempt to seize their own destiny in spite of fate and are typically involved with making important choices and decisions in response to what life throws at them. Enkidu was born as a clay monster without a sense of self, whose entire being was created to try and guide Gilgamesh into becoming a more 'acceptable' person. He did manage that, to a point. (Apparently Extra's version is the one mellowed by Enkidu) Eeeexcept that in doing so, he gained a sense of self and free will. And went against his creators. Ryoji can tell you it didn't end well. Nevertheless, he did try his best to change and take his destiny in his own hands, that has to count for something? Strength: Siegfried (The no-brainer) The Strength Arcana symbolizes an imagery beyond the Beast And Beauty, and is associated with the morality about the stronger power of self-control, gentleness, courage and virtue over brute force. In tarot readings, it can also represent creative or physical energy that needs to be or is about to be unleashed, sometimes out of desire to be recognized. Monster killing. That's what this arcana is all about, and that's why he's in about every persona game. Of the strength arcana. Not much else to say about that, honestly. Though, he IS involved in a nice plot about exitentialism in apocrypha... Hanged Man: Karna (The only servant to call his master fat to their face.) The Hanged Man Arcana is associated with self-sacrifice for the sake of enlightenment, the bindings that makes one free, paradoxes and hanging between heaven and earth. Hanged Man characters are sometimes self-sacrificial, but are more often notable for being caught between two different extremes, parties or stages in life. Hanged Man characters are sometimes self sacrificial and anyone who played CCC can confirm he is. Half god and half human, violent but not cruel, using either an unbreachable armor or an unbeatable lance, Karna is always at the crossroars between two extremes. I settle on t |
