I really love this work. It's a very realistic take on Ninja life, and deals very well with the darker aspects of the job. I've always loved stories where Naruto changes his name to avoid prejudice, and this is one of the best I've ever read. It delves into the actualities of running a Ninja Village, such as ranks, promotions, and jobs, even explaining pay. I also enjoy that Naruto is teaching Team 8. Will he take them on a 'training trip', like Kakashi does in "Being Over-Prepared is Impossible (and other mottos)"? It might help them to learn to rely upon each other, and balance their flaws? (Kiba gets into trouble because he ran off after a bear he can't handle, Hinata has to pluck up the courage to save him, Shino has to communicate more and act as team leader? though they do have very good teamwork...) To answer your summoning question, I think they do. Remember in the Naruto Manga, when he's attacked by Orochimaru's snake in the forest of death, I believe it puffs out of existence when Naruto blows a hole in its stomach. If their bodies go back to the summon realm, then they can be buried properly. I also love how you switched around Naruto's affinities. Oh, and a random thing: it'd be entertaining to see a one-shot of Gai bothering Kakashi when he first meets Sakumo/Naruto: a young boy, with a mask like kakashi's, with kakashi's father's name? Gai would be suspicious, wouldn't he? It'd be a funny, short one-shot. Overall, I love this story due to the exploration of Konoha's ninja system, politics, and the realistic growth of Naruto throughout the story. (let it be known that I absolutely hate stories where naruto is op out of nowhere.) His growth is measured and realistic, and I love it. Keep up the amazing work!

Very good story, it is one that does not bore you with so much explanatory filling, it is very well thought out and is not out of "normal" of the original series / manga, it is quite good, a greeting, I hope you continue, bye!

A nice story. My only gripe is that I wish we saw more of him learning and developing his abilities, I thought he would look into fuuinjutsu more, as well as the jonin library ;unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Regardless this was a very good story, if you ever update, I look forward to reading it.

you said you were going to avoid cliche, smh then why is Naruto suffering basically child abuse? that's NOT Canon, making the village treat him like crap and writing Naruto as this selfless hero who wants to help the village makes zero sense. Canon Naruto wanted to be hokage so he could have the respect of the village, who in Canon only avoided him, nothing else. In this fic you make the village treat him like trash, it would make complete sense if what you wanted to do was a villain!Naruto but hokage!Naruto? *sigh* I just hope there's no other bashing, konoha bashing is enough
