This was quite interesting. Though, one has to wonder what drew the wizard to the orphanage in the first place. Was he planning to take a child for some reason?

I liked the description of Tom as he realizes what he'd done to the wizard. The bit about how it'd make his caretakers cross themselves was neat and very descriptive. It also kind of shows how much they don't care/don't understand how truly evil Tom is, seeing as that's all they'd do rather than try to punish him or have carted off to some kind of psychiatric hospital or priest to "cure" him of his evilness.
