I like that Jess finds a loophole, so to speak, a smart way to avoid freezing to death or annoying his uncle (in theory). It sounds like the sort of thing he would do, and indeed should have done. At least on the show Luke made sure he was ok, but of course nothing got resolved that way.

Such a great story! Loved how they were able to open up to one another and understand what the other was going through. It was a totally abnormal thing for both Luke and Jess to show their feelings and vulnerability and I loved it so so much!

I like it. It's a nice depiction of Jess and Luke, and I get Luke's concern and fear, and Jess's use of the key to at least get into the diner for warmth and not in the apartment since Luke said he wasn't welcome. It's a better way to make up then what actually happened, and a good scene. I don't know if you will write more, but you easily could.

Oh, I love this so much! I just re-watched 'A family matter', and I was there, wishing they could have talked, then I open ffn and find this wonderful piece! Thank you so much, you've really made my day! I already read every story I could find about Jess and Luke, and I needed some more so... I hope you'll continue writing about the two of them ;)

The way Luke worries for Jess at the beginning is well done, and Jess's sudden appearance when we (Luke and I) thought he was freezing to death was... wow! Of course Jess would have used the key, that's clever.

Their conversation is open (right what they needed), wonderful and touching (I felt a lump in my throat) and just the way I wish they could always be. And aw, they hug in the end :) (love that Jess tried to avoid it, by the way!)
