The atmosphere of the house was so glum in the first chapter. Then came Alfred to save the day :). He brought their spirits up like a boss.

Wow, this chapter was so good as well! And so sweet! I can’t get over how talented you are at portraying family dynamics. Every character feels so real and with his unique voice… it’s simply amazing :)
I loved Alfred’s appearance! It’s so like him :) and Arthur and Francis arguing over whether he had put on weight or not OMG you’re so good at creating little domestic scenes.
And the ending was hilarious! It was also nice to see how Alfred reacted someway like Matthew, but of course more dramatically, it’s really good how you compared their different personalities with that.
Anyway, thank you for writing this story, it was a truly enjoyable read!

I was surprised because a few days ago I was researching for a fic, and I needed the commercial name of acetaminophen in the USA, only to find out that the highest dose is 500 mg per tablet, the normal 325. Here, the normal dose is 500 mg, and we have tablets with 1000 mg. Most adults use those. So seeing that, instead, you can use what looked like an opioid so easily was kind of odd, I guess. But then again, having your teeth removed is very painful… besides, hydrocodone is only a partial agonist if I’m not wrong, so it shouldn’t lead to addiction that easily. Here, you usually get prescribed either nimesulide or naproxen, that should be a bit stronger than ibuprofen even though they’re NSAIDs as well, but from what I’ve heard they don’t take the pain away completely. We kind of have the opposite problem, a few years ago they had to revise the legislation because opioids were so difficult to prescribe that you could basically get them only if you were terminally ill. Now, every doctor can prescribe them, but they need a very restrictive prescription, and pharmacies have to justify every movement of drugs containing and opioid.

Man, Matthew's surgery reminds me of my own! I had all 4 removed with only local anesthesia. The numbing gel they used on me was "strawberry" flavour. In reality, it tasted like cherry cough syrup!

My aftercare package, however, only contained gauze, extra-strength ibuprofen, and a bottle of special mouthwash I was suppose to use twice a day for a week, then once until it was empty.

This is such a good story! Your writing is really good, and I love how you managed to convey Matthew’s feelings, it felt very real. Poor baby, I don’t envy people who have to get their wisdom teeth removed, and four in one go? Arthur is very sweet, though, and so is Francis, their conversation at the end was very entertaining :)
Also, kudos for Matthew and Arthur’s conversation just after he gave him the local anesthetic, Arthur talking and Matthew all like ‘mmh’… it reminded me so much of the endless one-sided conversations with my dentist while he had his hands in my mouth!
And sorry for the question, but what kind of painkillers did he give him? From the side effects, it looks like an opioid… I’m surprised, do they prescribe opioids so easily in the USA? Where I live their usage is so restricted that you hardly get them outside of the hospital, and I’m pretty sure not after having your wisdom teeth removed… but then again, they don’t do four at once here, only one as far as I know.

Aw, Matthew is such a cutie!

Being an identical twin myself, I can say that from personal experience we tend to go through things at nearly the exact same time. So I have little to no doubt in my mind that Alfred is actually dealing with the same pain Matthew was pre-surgery, and because he's Alfred and likes to keep his suffering to himself, he's avoided saying a word about it.

Excellent story by the way. Keep up the awesome work.

"I feel drunk" XD man I can relate, I got all four at once too and only had to take the strong stuff once. I actually went up and asked my mom "is this what being high feels like?"

That was so cute. I kind of envy Mathew for the incredibly sweet, loving parents that he has.

I have a feeling that Alfred would make an appearance on the next chapter. I'm sure it would be just as good as this on.

I really hope that they'll get to go on that trip that Arthur wa talking about.
