honestly the diplomatic service being fused with the intelligence service (or having one serve as the other) is not uncommon in real human history. These are certainly more aggressive boys than average for that though. I think that is gonna be a running theme of this story.
what mods did you run? I might like to run a similar game of Stellaris. It has grown somewhat stale for me.

can we get a description of what kind of empire you had in the game? I bet xenophobic and militarism were in there. Did you do the one that spawns 2 other empires in a federation with you? or a covergant evolution one? wondering where your corporate trade empire democracy came from.
