Gorgeous! The way the tone of your writing completely match Killian's melancholy, all very quiet with a little sad undertone, is truly amazing, you're a wonderful writer.
Everything in this story was perfect. How Emma wants to help Killian, be here for him and restrain herself for pushing him but instead taking care of him, trying to find the words to make him smile. And Henry feelings Killian's mood and being the one to propose to take him to the beach, that shows how much he comes to care for him and the profound link they have now, and it's beautiful!
My favourite part is when Killian quietly asks Emma to take him to an adventure, like Liam when they were children, before all the terrible heartache. It's so very Killian!
"He stands perfectly still, and for a moment in time, it looks as though he was born here – or built here, rather, out of solid, glittering stone, pushing the waves out and then calling them back in." I just love this sentence.

That was very touching - the way they read each other and care for each other.
A couple of things made me laugh. Finding out that Emma and Killian were responsible for the darts on the ceiling - and the situation in which you revealed that fact. Henry's mixing bowl of cereal - reminded me of my brothers filling huge bowls with any cereal they could find. Anyway, I really enjoyed this.

This was lovely. Killian's sadness was perfectly written as 'melancholy', as contemplation, as a mood. As dejection. All the experiences of his incredibly long life weigh on his spirit occasionally. He's still grateful and deeply in love but his spirit is heavy. Emma was wonderful in recognizing how he was feeling and in caring for him. Even though she thought she was no good at it she helped him. A very good story, very real sadness in the midst of true happiness. Thanks for sharing and posting here.
