I am not quite sure what I expected, but I really liked this chapter a lot more than I expected! I love how you included small things such as the Galadhrim hiding in the trees and Legolas asking them to leave. Very nicely written!

I am so happy that we get more glimpses of Legolas' life in Mirkwood...even if it's about tension and a rift between brothers. :( I love that Gimli is there for him, that he climbed high into a tree and waited for Legolas.

I love how loyal and protective Gimili and Legolas are of each other.

I love the idea of an archery contest with Legolas. (I am also really curious to learn more about his life in Mirkwood. I love getting little bits and pieces.)

I love the budding friendship between Legolas and Gimli. Gimili's thoughts on Legolas is has some pretty hilarious moments. I loved getting the opportunity to hypothetically picture Legolas falling down a hole and then happily chatting with earthworms. :D

I loved the opportunity to picture Legolas playing a card game. When he won the hand...I remembered the drinking game in the movie (one of my favorite moments). :) I also love that we get to see more of Boromir and that you show a friendly/kind side to him.

V.R.: This is a beautifully written narrative that follows the growth of friendship between Gimli and Legolas. Legolas being portrayed as a young elf suits the character as a whole, and you have added a depth to him that makes us(the reader) want to know more about his past and how he came to be this way. Gimli is written as that character who is out of his depth in a world that he does not understand in Lothlorien, but he comes to a deeper understanding of the history of elves and dwarves that is not just about being rivals or enemies. Indeed, the theme of friendship can be seen throughout all the relationships between the Fellowship. The idea that one must have patience to grow, to develop but also to be a better friend is an intresting area to explore. You create and write in a way that draws us into the story and I hope you continue your series, and look forward to the next installation. If you haven't read this then do so :P
