I love this line in particular. This is a great story. Finch's POV is spot on, the descriptions of what happens and his reactions feel very real, I can imagine the gore without you having to be explicit about it, which is clever because I doubt Finch actually got a good look at it, just a sense of how bad it was. Lastly, Reese quietly looking after him is just so perfect.
