I loved this story, to be honest; it is the perfect length with the right amount of in-game content and more exploration into the characters and stuff.
Definitely worthy of my Favourite.

Actually, Owain can have a daughter in Fates, and it's said she also bears the Brand of the Exalt, despite not knowing a single thing about Ylisse.

I do like Awakening; granted, I have only played (and finished) it and Fates, so my comparison pool isn't exactly large. However, I do prefer Awakening's gameplay over that in Fates and Echoes, due to how simple it is; just three main physical weapon types (axe, lance, sword) in an effectiveness triangle, with magic and bows for variety. No hidden weapons, no higher-ranked weapons impacting stats, none of that. The only real issues with gameplay is weapon fragility (my units have occasionally become completely incapable of attacking on occasion, especially weaker ones I'm training up), the lack of a bow that targets foes immediately in front of the unit (Fates has that, and it means my archers can be cornered and rendered useless), and how slow EXP accumulation becomes while trying to get ideal Skills.

I also like Casual/Newcomer, because I loathe permadeath. As a result, I'm not interested in any pre-Awakening FE games, since they lack Casual (I know that one DS title that might be Japan-only has it; Awakening was not the first to include the feature, just the first to really make it controversial, due to the game's unexpected success compared to previous games' cult following).

Maybe Robin DIDN'T leave to join the military? He only joined the Shepherds after Chrom, Lissa and Frederick found him unconscious in a field (an unknown amount of time after Grima affected his memory); what he was doing prior to that is unknown. Additionally, the fact that no nation (Ylisse, Plegia, Ferox, Valm) recognised him as a former soldier suggests that he never was a soldier before meeting Ylisse's royal family.
Maybe he was a traveller, and knew how to use swords and magic from having to defend himself in the past. Maybe he was a scholar, who learned magic via spellbooks and self-practice.

Lucina DOES need a hobby; she'll be here for an unplanned three years, after all, and she can't spend all that time doing work or training; she does need to relax. The human body isn't meant for constant work, and neither is the mind.

...Also, Lucina arrived three years early. Does this affect any of her comrades, the future children? In-game, Laurent arrived early and had to spend the extra time in a desert village; is he still early? Will his story, and the stories of the rest of the children, remain the same, the only difference being Lucina's?
