Nightwing5360 chapter 7 . 10/8/2018 Awww, so sweet. You sure know how to write stories. I enjoyed that. I almost cried when I was reading this story! Good job. No, great job! |
UMdancer98 chapter 7 . 5/4/2017 You read and critiqued mine so I figured it was only fair for me to do the same for you. :) First, however, you should know that I have never watched "Teen Titans" so I know nothing about any of the characters or their personalities. So, this review will be strictly about the writing (like you mentioned in your profile). The title was perfect for the story and so was Robin's reaction to the unintended insult. Your descriptions of his injuries, and the pain he was feeling, were really well done. In fact, you are a very descriptive writer; you can paint vivid pictures of things that are happening. It's really quite impressive. I also liked Robin's memory of Batman's training: "Put the pain in a box...", etc. and the way you wrote Robin. I see him as a confident young man who, because he was trained by Batman, wouldn't want to seem weak or ask for help. You did really well with that. I'm a grammar/spelling/punctuation freak so I noticed some mistakes scattered throughout but not enough to distract me from the story itself. The main thing I want to talk about is the fight scene between Robin and Killer Moth. You did well describing it - as I said before, you are great at description - but it was kind of distracting to read their specific names each time you switched characters. It's important for the readers to know who is doing what, of course, but you can use other words to show the switch. For example, using some distinctive characteristic or nickname (like "The Boy Wonder") instead of "Robin". I don't know if he is called "The Boy Wonder" in TT, though. For Killer Moth, you could use "villain" or "man" as opposed to Robin's "hero" or "young man/teenager". It's less repetitive and your readers would still be able to follow the action of each character without getting lost. It would also streamline readability a little bit; maybe that's just me, though. Anyway, that's all I have. This story is well-written, descriptive and easy to follow. It's not a "crappy" story at all. ;-) Great job! |
