Tinbuzzard11 chapter 2 . 3/31/2018 You have a very interesting premise that is engagingly written! Life on the fringes of civilization is a relatively untapped source of stories in the Zootopian universe. I've always assumed that their civilization is not as widespread as in our modern world and that extensive wild-lands or less developed regions exist elsewhere. Excellent cultural and wilderness lifestyle details! Many assume that Zootopian (mammalian) history would parallel human history in many ways, but it would certainly have to be completely different. What species survived, which went extinct, and how multiple intelligent mammals interacted as they evolved over the previous several hundred thousand-or few million years is a fascinating subject. I've tried using that idea for a story as well-nice to see another take on it! (I also knocked off the North American megafauna-poor beasts!) Await more! |
Thomas Linquist chapter 2 . 3/31/2018 Not sure just how I missed out on the first chapter of this. The last months have been busy for me though. Family stuff. I like the way you write a historical piece. It's not easy to combine human/animal stories from the past. I can easily picture a naive young lynx coming out of the wilds, the last of her people, and a slightly older hare taking her in, wary in their friendship at first. This would be like those early years in North America. I do hope that there will be none of those horrid residential schools that we are still dealing with the repercussions of her in Canada. Intentions may have been good, but... This might be the chance for Albert to record at least some of Little Sister's language for posterity, in print at least. An actual recording would need to wait for somebody from the city to bring equipment, or for her to travel there. Albert must be lonely in the deep of winter, so this one's arrival is timely. A lot of the megafauna would have gone extinct as the old ways died out. It happens. When the course of the St. Lawrence river was changed with the seaway system project, some of the older generation here just couldn't adapt to the changes. Some of the elderly died of broken hearts. This was as late as the 1950's. I imagine that, in this world you write of, a lot of species couldn't make the changes and just... gave up. |
aRandomAccount12 chapter 1 . 4/20/2017 I agree that this is an interesting promise for a story! I haven't seen anything like it yet and I look forward to more! Don't be discouraged by the naysayers, I for one think you're doing an amazing job with a great concept and I happily await more in the future! |
Mithel Celestia chapter 1 . 2/28/2017 Were you discouraged by the last review? Please don't mind them. This really has an interesting premise. One that is rarely looked upon by others. I hope there are more chapters in the future. |
Guest chapter 1 . 1/10/2017 This is shit. Did you poop this story out of your butthole? |
Combat Engineer chapter 1 . 1/5/2017 Quite an interesting premise. Looking forward to seeing more. |
eng050599 chapter 1 . 1/5/2017 An interesting time period to examine, and a very interesting setup with regards to the cultural aspects of the various species. Colonialism as filtered through Zootopian species. I'll be interested in seeing how this develops. As an interesting side note, if the Felidae species followed a similar evolutionary pathway as here, the cats in Zootopia would be indifferent to sweet foods. Almost all cats have a mutated taste receptor that is either greatly reduced in function, or entirely non-functional. A dollop of butter in the tea may taste better to a lynx...no accounting for taste. Honey and lemon in tea is my go to cold morning drink. |
Mithel Celestia chapter 1 . 1/5/2017 An interesting story. We can't deny the fact the wild mammals might still exist even after Zootopia was found. Even wild versions of already civilized mammals like wolves, hares, and deer might still roam the wilds. This story is shaping up to be indepth on this idea and I'm looking forward to more chapters. |
