I'm only finding it now (thanks to Twitter), for some reason I haven't been receiving any alerts since 27th (grrr...).

As much as I don't read canon these days, haven't been for some time and as much as I have a feeling I've read too many -Katherine imposing Elena vs bitter Damon leading to jealousy- stories, of course you can come out with something so enjoyable. It's the little tricks you use to make a good story a great one, you got me on

Not even 5 minutes later, the doorbell rang.

And rang.

And kept ringing.

Well done the build up and their layered characters in 2900 words! which is pretty limited. Damon somewhere between his natural brutal honesty and instinct not to hurt Elena's feelings, Elena, her usual compassionate self mixed with ability to stay in denial no matter what, yet bravely coming out with the 'truth' when she decides to own her mistakes (I'm actually not sure if it isn't just a bit manipulative, until she's in the corner, she sticks with denial ;), her heart in the right place though. Katherine playing games, but not always just for her own benefit.

It was a nice surprise that you did another prompt, now feeling like Christmas will last a bit longer. Thank you for sharing and please be back whenever you can.

I like this one a lot and the happily ever after is always a very welcome respite from the never ending cluster**** that is season's 7 & 8 to be honest. Thank you for sharing it.

I like this story I always think that it is funny seeing either Damon or Elena being jealous

You did a great job with this one. I love jealous Elena for once instead of Damon. He doesn't exactly possess self esteem in spades so he felt like she would only come around when she needed him for something. I'm actually glad that Katherine happened to infringe on them because had she not, he might still be keeping his feelings from her.
