I want to see Joey and Tristan again, and don't think I didn't see what you did there! (If you bring them back, can you have them be friends with a pair of brothers, the older having a Starmie and the younger a Staryu? xD)

Well, this was sure something. I wasn't expecting that somebody would write a story based on an NPC that's only known for being a meme. But if your other stories taught me something is that you're a master of the unexpected.

It was interesting reading how much it sucks being a walking meme, and how much can you hurt somebody by taking out of proportion something somebody who doesn't know better says. Makes you wonder about how the real life walking memes like the Overly Attached Girlfriend or Bad Luck Brian fare.

Though I'd like to point out that, while the "Top percentage Rattata" line is quite corny and meme worthy on its own, the meme comes from all the times Joey calls you to tell you that (other times he'll call you to tell you how he failed to catch a Metapod)

This was rather interesting. I actually felt really sorry for poor old Joey. I've never been fond of memes in general especially when they become overdone. I understand his hatred for the old line as well especially when it evolved into what it is now.

It was an interesting choice to go with someone rather minor compared to who we have seen in the spin offs. Someone who isn't a villain, elite four or gym leader. So to see a trainer's life who has infamy in this world is actually nice to see.

And a good guy is Tristan. Considering what he ends up doing... I wonder... What is in that egg? Originally I thought a Alolan Rattata but now... Tauros?

I see Alolan forms are becoming more common though if Joey recognised them even if not everything is known.

All in all, it was a nice look at someone else in the world who isn't an amazing trainer like the others. And I would like to see more of this. Keep up the good work.

Well, that was certainly an unexpected entrant into the Resetverse. I was not expecting the Top Percentage of Rattata meme to be referenced.

I'd say the change was for the best, this turned out pretty good. Heh, I imagined you'd come up with the FEAR strategy. There's no way that could be left out XD

Can't blame Joey for breaking down in tears the way he did. Sometimes we want to leave those old shames behind, and people will just keep shoving them to us in our faces. But even so, Tristan showed him that sometimes it just takes one kind gesture to help people see a better day. Even when everyone mocked him, his words actually had a positive effect on someone else. Everything turned out very well in the end. Perhaps some will still make fun of him, but he gained a new friend (and the egg as a plus). I'd certainly love to see more of them in the future. Congratulations on another great oneshot.
