There a story about zarc and ray relationship in the past called boundary might help your story it also tall that zarc actuall name isn't zarc is yuusha and it mean hero or person of significance go check it out trust me it will help you

Why not if you continue the story make it so yuzu learns synchro summoning from yugo, also why not use the dubbed names of yuzu and Selena monsters

Seeing Yuya almost OTK those Obelisk Force cowards with Dark Rebellion and using the effects of the monsters used to summon it, even after being detached as Overlay Units to banish themselves while being Awakened was great after all the terrible things they've done.

grins yuya duel was so good the way it combo his cards with red eyes so good and the finisher with red eyes inferno fire blast added a touch of classic yugioh into it a very good duel that had me grinning from beginning to end great chapter man looking forward to the next one

you know i had almost forgotten this story but its a good thing i check up on what been going on the site lol this chapter is good and how meny red eyes cards does yuya have now ? besides the ones he just got i only remember flare dragon and the oc odd eyesred eyes fusion monster i made for you i think it was last year if i remember right but still great chapter and i'm looking forward to the next one

The meeting between Reiji and Serena happened just about the same except with the small mention of the Tag Duel she and Barret had with Shun and Yuya. Really interested to see how that's going to affect things when the Lancers are formed.
The small moment between Yuya and Yuzu after they are announced as part of the top 16 was fitting for the 2 of them seeing how at the end of the day they're both dueling to represent their school.
And of course I can't forget the fact that Yuya told Yuzu about the how he and Shun teamed up to deal with 2 if the Academy's people as soon as he could the two of them to be alone was my favorite part outside of the duel. It really is nice to see Yuya not keep this a secret from Yuzu since he could understandably not want to worry her.

Now the main highlight of this chapter is the rematch between Akio and Yuya, and this is certainly a heck of a duel since not only are they betting the Pendulum cards they picked up as is required under tournament rules but they are also putting up 2 of their cards as well.

But that doesn't compare to the back and forth that went on between the 2 of them. There were quite a lot of memorable moments in this duel alone that it just blows my mind.
Some of those moments include:
Akio using Mystical Space Typhoon to get rid of Gold Fang while he was still in the Pendulum zone.
Akio actually having more Red Eyes Cards including Red Eyes Darkness Dragon. And how he used Decoy Dragon to Summon Red Eyes.
The use of action Traps even if it was during 2 instances.
Getting some good use out of Lizardraw's ability.
Akio being able to Synchro Summon due to a deal his school made with LDS.
Yuya using Odd Eyes Fusion to Summon Rune Eyes.
Yuya's expert use if Life Swordsman.
Yuya doing the traditional Yugioh thing of drawing what you need to save yourself to first bring out Performpal Kuriborder for the first time. Plus seeing Yoko and Shuzo talk about the card and it's background was a nice touch.

There are many more things I could list but this review is going on too long as is. I look forward to seeing how the cards Yuya got from the letterwill be used as well as who gave it to him.
Speaking of Yuya getting cards, man considering the connection that Joey has with the Red Eyes monsters it was certainly a surprise to see Yuya getting 1 more monster than what was agreed upon. That kinda reminds me of the conclusion of the duel between Joey and Mako during battle city.
For a character that you made up, I was surprised to see just how much development Akio got during this story. But considering how much I think you have good character writing skills this should not be a surprise.
The real surprise was just how good this duel was. This was certainly one of the best you've ever written and I can't help but think that this chapter really makes a case for more original duels in your stories.
Getting a new chapter before Christmas was a nice treat and the fact that it contained such an awesome duel just makes it better.
