Samateus-Taal chapter 1 . 1/3/2017
I've finally finished reading all of your works regarding HTTYD and I must say, the emotion and expression of each chapter, how each character relates to one another, beautiful. The whole thing is so well written and I look forward to more once more HTTYD stuff comes along.
Well done, I look forward to more!
Queen Bovine chapter 1 . 1/1/2017
This is very cathartic. It feels like an inspirational, uplifting allegory about the light at the end of the tunnel, about holding onto hope and persevering through hard times with the support of loved ones. It's like a holiday special without the annoyingly unsubtle social commentary of a Hallmark movie. Reading this really brightened my day. Thank you.

Part of me feels sad about the malnourishment little Hiccup has to face as a dragon-boy, but then the other half points out that things probably aren't much better on Berk, what with the raids and all. I love how proud he is of himself for tricking Fish Thief and hiding the extra food. I also like the little things that show, despite the sense of community that comes with identifying as a dragon, that Hiccup still perceives some things differently, like making a connection between fireflies and the possibility of luminous paint.
Mr. Martin chapter 1 . 12/25/2016
I am quite appropriately reading this on Christmas morning.

What a wonderful story. It reminds me o many tales I've heard of ancient winter holidays (like those of the Vikings for example), in which people would celebrate to drive back the darkness of winter.

Anyone who's seen How to Train Your Dragon knows that dragons are intelligent creatures. It's nice to see that they now the value of sharing good times with family.

Merry Christmas right back at you! This was an enjoyable story, showing 10 year old hiccup near the end of what I can only assume is a winter hibernation time for the dragons. The pure innocence of a child, what joy it is to see and read. Yet know what is to come, the innocence lost by such a innocent pair, makes these moments all the better.
Until next time,
Keep up the amazing work!

I absolutely adore the way you push readers into this vast and mystical word that you have somehow made real. You are just a treasure trove with every new piece a new jewel! Your writing is something I look upon as inspiration.

Why is everything you write so awesome?! This was beautiful as usual; I read it after doing some winter hibernating of my own ;) I think Hiccup is pretty inventive, wanting to use fireflies to draw Coalburst; even if it wouldn't work in practice, it's the sort of thing a child, especially a wild one, would think about how fireflies worked.

The other day my friend and I watched 'The Good Dinosaur', and I couldn't help but picture Spot as a young Feral Hiccup. Have you seen that movie? And Moana, I watched that quite recently as well.

Happy writing, and a very Merry Christmas!
