Great story - full of action, H/C, and some really funny scenes - especially between the guys. I love your style of writing - it's a subtle style - showing little movements and conversations that enrich the characters and the story: Hutch reaching around for Starsky before he storms the kids who stole his wallet, Hutch's quiet voice guiding a blind Starsky thru rocks, Dobey putting a little more grizzly into his growl...I love those and so many more.
Having the storm blow thru at the end - to me - a way of finally washing clean all the lies and cover-ups that resulted in so much death and hurt. The decorative pine tree being ripped out of the ground the final act of that purge - restoring the equilibrium talked about earlier (the "Equilibrium" chapter is so awesome and powerful!).
Enjoyed reading about Rick and AJ - I remember the show a bit - so it was like seeing old friends again and getting to know them again.
I really did enjoy this story - great job for your first crossover! I'm really looking forward to reading more of your stories!

I read this part of the chapter of couple of times (and may read it a couple of more). If finally hit me that this is Starsky & Hutch, Rick & AJ, Magnum & friends, Doyle & Bodie, Riggs & Martin, Gage & DeSoto, and all the other friendships & relationships (fiction and fact) that we see and/or have.

We maintain the equilibrium as best we can...we take care of our own.

Hmmm...Starsky wondering down the hall with nothing on but a hospital gown...nice picture to have in my head! That scene between him, Hutch, and the doctor was priceless...along with funny!

Rick and AJ - they seem to get in as much trouble as Starsky & Hutch! :-)!

Good start to a great story - and I'm glad I don't have to wait till after Christmas to read the rest! :-)
BTW - my husband's a truck driver and my brother used to drive over the road. Meant a lot to me for you to show how truckers come together and help out on the road when it's needed. :-)!

OK - I know the guys are hurt really bad, really they are. But this chapter is hilarious - from Starsky saying David Cet, to Hutch agreeing to "whatever you say Starsky", to the vending machine line..."shoot bullets into the bus and out pops another kid criminals?"...just hilarious.

Good serious stuff too - Starsky fussing at Hutch for them not to save the world this time, both of them fussing at the kid for what he did and going to jail...

But oh, the fun stuff...ROFL!

Really like the way you showed Starsky's total trust in Hutch...literally walking blindly over rocks and such, guided only by Hutch's quiet voice - that was good.

And, I giggled a little over Starsky's vow to kill Hutch..those guys...lol

Love this...Hutch knowing "his brother well enough to feel the quiet panic." Perfect!
Great subtle reference (if you meant it) to "Survival" when Hutch found Starsky in the canyon and he said to Hutch "let you rescue me for a change." :-)!

Good start to what sounds like is going to be a great story! You have captured the guys so good! Just like Starsky to feel for the kids and want to show them the good side of a cop - and of course - he's got to have his snacks - even if he loses them. When I read a story - I LOVE the (what I call them) little moments or movements that make they guys (or any character) more real and believable. You nailed that with the part where Hutch quietly tells Starsky the kids got his badge and wallet and then had Hutch reach for Starsky before the curly headed one headed back down the bus...love it.
And, the end of the chapter, Hutch slipping out of the seat and falling to Starsky to wrap himself around his partner - just like our guys to save and protect the other. A powerful, little moment. Just really great! Now...on to the rest of the story!

Fantastic story. Loved every word. Keep writing. And... I'm sure Winslow, AZ will survive. LOL
