So was Kirk actually there or was it all a vision?
Guest chapter 22 . 12/16/2019
Well that was confusing.

So I guess the Izalith Arc is finished, far more exciting than when I went through it. *Grumbles about the Bed of Chaos*

I'm getting some serious Kirei vibes from Oswald here.
Guest chapter 5 . 12/14/2019
Loving the expansion on characters and lore. Didn't expect Berenike and a Channeler of all things to get limelight.

I have decided to not read the last two summaries of your story, in hopes that you'll eventually find your spirits again and finish this amazing piece.

I don't think there's any doubt or even much contention: this is the best piece of fanfiction I remember reading by wide margin. Your take on the lore of Souls is deep and complex, your handling of the characters is either nuanced and human, or usefully simple and purposeful. Your writing has a feeling of mystery and discovery to it, and while it is largely slow-burn, it has rarely been boring. And even the best stories tend to have pacing issues. Your sense of humor is largely poignant, and despite how easily it could've happened, it never felt like it broke the general theme/vibe of the story.

Lex isn't exactly relatable, but I doubt that was your intention (?). He feels competent enough that he has a well-founded understanding of the world and its moving cogs, yet he's also hopelessly weak and outmatched in terms of knowledge by many of the greater characters around him, which keeps the air of mystery/discovery alive. His preset savviness can also result in your story being slightly hard to follow at times, since there are so many names (with some characters having multiple names), places, objects and, well, moving parts that keeping track of it all can be somewhat overwhelming, especially if you don't have a sound idea of the lore. A less-versed main character that would've served as a catalyst for exposition could've made the story a tad easier to follow, but I digress. Exposition is very difficult to balance.

I myself have a half-understanding of the lore that's obviously way behind yours in terms of completeness. I find it a shame that we haven't yet really met many Dark Souls 3 characters, like Yhorm, Aldrich or, most of all, Sulyvahn himself (whom I think there's tremendous potential for in a story like this).

All in all, this is a book that could've easily been sold in stores and no one would think it fanfiction. It has a true uniqueness to it; it almost feels like it doesn't belong on this page at all. There's political intrigue, complicated character development and world-building with serious depth to it. The writing is professional and your vocabulary is astounding, and, once again, rarely did it ever feel boring despite the wealth of information being communicated.

It's a true shame that something this good is seemingly not going to get a proper end, for it has truly been something else. I pray you'll find your passion again and resume scribbling someday.

Wonder why Caffrey and Guyra had such a fixation on Lax. Quelaag I get since you always have her as the waifu of your fics. Remember that time Vela cockteased him at the Unread town bridge? I enjoyed how the spirit brothers came across as Celtic and a slight Slavic god outlook. The bit about the children in a belt and chains slung across ones shoulder gave of The Dagda and Krambus vibes.

Oh shot! Just imagine the armor core series being part of the big cycles

All it takes is 1 death. Then bye bye

Meh, they'll need to go eventually. Its not fat if it doesn't happen or can be made up by humans on the fly.
