Wow. This is... ONE OF THE BEST interpretation of the Batter's motivations, ONE OF THE BEST ideas concerning his origins, and honestly just a great fanfic in general! Also, the fact that you took into account the fact that Hugo created this world (including the Batter) makes me so ridiculously happy. I love Hugo's childlike view of 'purity' and what a father ought to be.
I'm sorry, I'm not great at expressing things sometimes, but I just plain love this one shot. Props to you, good author!

The way you link your therory to the game was great and I felt that the plot holes for Hugo has been filled in nicely by your therory hope you can make more therory and link them to more storytelling
