Slivie42 chapter 6 . 3/5/2019 I'm still really into your Wearing The Faces Of Men fic; even though you're following the filler episodes of the anime, the fact that Lily and Lenin are there to point out exactly how horrifying and surreal most aspects of every episode truly are (as well as how glossed-over) genuinely makes it an investing and entertaining read. I'm curious, though, whether Lily and Lenin will ever meet Mewtwo and N, who are pretty much the only beings I can think of to ever see their world in the same way? Also, if you don't mind a couple more questions here, is Lily actually a named pokemon such as Arceus or maybe Mew? And then, if Mewtwo were to encounter her, would he be hostile towards her as a being of far greater power (pokemon or not) whose defeat he views as his purpose in life (and his validation, if she really is Mew)? |
creativesm75 chapter 6 . 6/2/2018 very cool. |
a2i9 chapter 6 . 5/13/2018 Ooooh, so we have it. I had intended to ask you what phase of each story we're in, but for most, I think we have the answer, Lily is finishing with the first arc, October is near 2/3rds. So how far in are we in Minato? And though you did say for now it's not one of your main fics, if there is continued interest, how much would Wearing the faces off Men be? (I hope where we are now could be said to be about 1% of the fic, oh I hope so dearly). So, I think there are a few questions I'd like to pose. First off, to our host Frank, whom I find a great side character, "If given the opportunity to decide, what would you have Riddle Inc be doing next? Also, after working on the ALF, do you have hopes/dreams for where the vampire community might be someday? If so, are you willing to do something about it?" To Albus Dumbledore from Lily and the Art of Being Sisyphus, (as I'd like an appearance), "You seem to have given up on Eleanor Potter, and didn't question the appearance of Lenin Rabbitson. Is there something you have been doing in the background, or are you honestly not concerned about the situation? Or maybe you are, but know you can't change anything? Either way, remember that sometimes you must do what is right, rather than what is easy." To Lily, "How often have you been visiting Death lately? It might just be in the background, but I'm concerned you're neglecting him a bit. Also, are you concerned that Death might not have met you after you go back all those years, or is him being in a different dimension mean that he's also outside of the time in your dimension? Where exactly do you think the train would take you to, were you to take it?" To Lenin, "How has your perception of Death changed in all this time? And how has your perception of death changed? If you were to have taken over all of England through that extremely violent and fear inducing campaign, what were your plans after that? If you take over England now, what are your plans now?" To Death, "Back when you were much younger, did you ever think about making others immortal, or the like, so as to not be alone? Do you regret having to let someone die? What lies at the edge of the universe, if there is one? Also, are you still concerned about the relationship between Lenin and Lily?" To Eru Lee, "Have you thought about what you'll do, when, inevitably, someone asks you to bring back someone close to them? Why are you so against even thinking about England, when the English shinobi proves that there might be a lot you might not know about the place? After all, you didn't see too much of it." To October's Lily Evans, "Even though he's a different person now, how did you accept Tom's past that easily? Do you regret not taking a little more time to think about it, and agreeing to the marriage so early, when it means that Tom's past might come back and maybe even drive him out of not only the country, but the planet? Now that you know Tom used to be great friends with the Emperor of Ubik, how do you feel about going there? Would anything change if you came to know that Tom still had the side of him that might convince a school kid to make murder their goal in life?" To Muggle studies Professor Tom Riddle, "Are you concerned you might be rushing into marriage too soon? How do you feel about Azrael coming straight back just to say what he did? Why do you think he said that in the first place?" To Misty,. from the glorious Wearing the Faces of Men, "What do you feel about your current traveling companions? Is there a Pokemon you'd like to add to your team? Have you heard your companions talking about the morality of Pokemon battles, and even keeping them as your Pokemon? How do you feel about the matter?" To slave owner Lenin, "So you did decide to become a Pokemon master. How do you plan on going about that? If you believe Lily about the sentinence of all Pokemon, how do you plan on interacting with "your" Pokemon?" To Champion Lance, "What went through your mind when the Pikachu suddenly used psychic powers? Do you really believe it was the Pikachu?" Oh wait, that hasn't happened yet... Darn time now, for our God and author, the Muffin, "First off, thank you so much for all your writing. What genres of music do you like? How much do you write in a day? Do you write regularly, or when the muse strikes? What are your tips for a beginner? What are your favourite five novels? Favourite TV shows? Do you read Stephen King? If yes, how do you like his stories? Which is your favourite one? Also, you definitely have a reader here for when you publish your own novels, so you definitely should!" |
a2i9 chapter 5 . 5/12/2018 So now you've done it. You should totally write a fic about paint drying. And also, that is exactly why this fic is a thing: it isn't a Q&A fic, it's entertaining in itself, and well, when it works as a talk show with commercials that may become new and amazing stories (I'm totally behind an Avengers fic, fyi) and also, the death of the Muffin Avatar, it just works really well. |
a2i9 chapter 4 . 5/12/2018 wow. Amazing quality of commercials this episode. The disappearance of Eru Lee sounds so so interesting, there is so much potential there. Avengers x Lily would be hilarious, oh wow, but damn, I'll be honest, I'm so invested in Lily/Lee/Wearing the Faces/October/Wasteland... Damn you're amazing. Anyway, I actually have Do Androids dream of electric sheep as my next fic in the reading list, so I skipped that part of the interview. Onwards now! |
a2i9 chapter 3 . 5/11/2018 Oooh, I thought I came back after all other stories, but a death note fic, that does sound interesting! I have a lot of questions, but I'll ask them after the last chapter. For now, one for you, as a fan of Death Note, have you seen Code Geass? If not, I highly recommend it, in the same way I told a few other people who liked death note, "If you liked that, you'll like Geass better". |
a2i9 chapter 2 . 5/3/2018 Oh no. No. No. No. Not that I can't appreciate a good troll (though that isn't where my interest lies), ask around, and My Immortal has actually become all that people know about HP fanfiction. Tell someone that you read fanfiction and that's the only image they have. |
a2i9 chapter 1 . 5/3/2018 See, that just keeps convincing me that you and Emerald Ashes writing a fic together would make literally the best fanfic to ever be written. Also, yeah, it's a great idea! Let me see what's already been said, and I'll ask my share of it. |
GlassGirlCeci chapter 6 . 4/19/2018 I HAVE to thank AlleyKat2014, because I really love Wonderful World of Fanfiction. I gravitated towards this one to catch up on before the others, and I think that really says something special about it. It's not that it's my favorite, and perhaps part of it is that it updates so rarely, but there's just something...incredibly unique and charming about this fic, if you can call it that. It's way above and beyond what I would think of if I just heard "question and answer fic". I don't know how much effort you put into these chapters, but it feels very thought out and heartfelt. Maybe that's because you've got so many already-created worlds and characters and have such a good grasp on them that you can just sort of throw them into scenarios and have them play out naturally - and your particular brand of dry, absurdist humor makes it all the more enjoyable, of course. But this sort of...aggregate of all your characters and worlds feels like something far greater than the sum of its parts, and it's difficult to pinpoint why. Obviously, the utter demolition of the fourth wall plays a role. The fact that you can so convincingly write characters aware of their fictional nature, but they *feel real anyway*, is amazing. It takes the existentialist element present in so much of your writing and turns it up to eleven, and frankly it's just plain fun watching them deal with it xD And there's this weird quality here where they feel like actors taking a break from playing themselves, as if we're getting a look at the 'real' real them. More than that, though, is the...all-encompassing aspect of it. I doubt you set out to do this when you first started writing sidefics for Sisyphus, but the sprawling multi-verse that has blossomed with Lily as the catalyst gives a sense of...richness to it all, when taken holistically. We've seen multiple versions of Lily diverge into different characters organically, witnessed your take on all these settings in this interconnected way, and when it all converges here it's this complex web of recursive interactions with each other. I mean, it's basically a crossover of crossovers! And that's why fans read and write crossovers in the first place, isn't it? They want to see what happens when two worlds collide, or characters find themselves in novel situations. Well, here, fans like me who appreciate all your writing (though there's still stuff I haven't read - yet) get to experience that, and it's absolutely delicious. The fact that we get insight into the characters that we would never otherwise have is just another layer that makes this cake ;D (Although now that I think about it...I wonder if you *did* end up with the multiverse thing intentionally, and it's some meta-hint at Lily's nature that will actually bear fruit in Sisyphus... Speculating that way lies madness, I think) ...All of that might have already occurred to you...I just thought I'd explain why *I* enjoy this so much. Goodness, that was a ramble, and there's probably more I missed...but anyway. I do try to leave reviews whenever I can, because I did suspect you used them to gauge interest. Sometimes, however, it's not that I lose interest or didn't read a chapter, but rather I'm in fact so excited to see an update that I devour it when I shouldn't be taking the time to, and then forget to review later - for example, I've read the most recent chapters of Destroyer of Worlds and When Harry Met Tom, and absolutely loved them both. I think I've said before that I like leaving more substantial reviews (hopefully they're not a bother...like this monster of a review...), and that can be a double-edged sword when I don't have the time to devote to one. From the fics you listed as 'want to finish but may not', I think God of the Machine is my favorite, and it surprised me that it fell into that category. The Wasteland might rival it, but GotM probably wins simply because there's much more of it. (You know, I was also mildly surprised you didn't mention Anna Jones in your answer to my question on characters having your qualities, given that she's labeled as an SI, but I suspect she's more of a pseudo-SI, isn't she?) Anyway...yeah...I think I'm done. lol. I for one always look forward to new chapters for this! Thanks for updating, I loved it of course :) |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/17/2018 For some reason, I’m really interested in Lily wandering into God of the Machine. Part of that is wondering how Lily would interact with Anna. Would she recognize Anna Jones as other? Would she try to help Anna or be indifferent or just be more interested in L or Light or the gambling clown gods? What I’d be most interested in, though, is how Lily would interact with the other Anna Jones, or the author. Lily has godlike powers in general, but the author has godlike control over her fanfic. Who would win if they had a confrontation for whatever reason? Would the author accept Lily’s presence or try to write her out of the story or just try to abandon or delete the fic out of panic? |
Random chapter 6 . 4/17/2018 Uwaaahhhh you actually wrote it! The Shisui and Hari interaction! Oh My Muffin, you actually wrote it! Thank you! Sorry for being so heavy with the exclamatory marks, I was just so excited to read this. Hehehe thank you once again. I really enjoyed this chapter. I kinda have another ask, if you'd be interested. So, Lily/Lee/Ellie is more or less the personification of death, right? Are there any other primal forces (life, chaos, etc) running around on earth or anywhere else, (maybe slightly older more experienced than Lily?) and will Lily ever meet them? She's met some powerhouses, almost deities and all(jashin & crackerjack come to mind), but another character on a similar power level as her? Maybe a personification of chaos or life or something. As either an OC or a version of an already existing character. |
Pineapple-Lady-sama chapter 6 . 4/10/2018 “No, Lenin, the dumbest thing you have ever done was mistaking my mom for me in the past and then deciding to get petty revenge and blowing yourself up in the process.” Please tell me that this line will somehow end up in LatAoBS. That crossover with All You Need is Love is just...*claps* :D |
Orbin chapter 6 . 4/8/2018 Thanks for giving us a look behind the curtain. The word effort comes to mind. I think it was a good effort. Apparently it is a difficult landscape to navigate. and...what did we expect anyway? Sometimes the only way to really SEE how something works is blow it so far out of proportion it explodes and you can then glimpse the many pieces as they fly apart or ooze out (whatever the case may be). I might ask muffin, what it feels like. Or, does it have a feeling? I am glad to hear that you intend to continue work on LILY and the new tom/harry things, thanks. Really like those. I realize writing this, due to your system of review counting may be a vote towards continued introspecsplosion, but that's unavoidable tho not intended. I feel a bit sad that I don't KNOW if some of your other stories are worthy of more, because, being "fan-fiction" it's just not possible to really GET it without appreciating the original material. I've tried naruto and death note but it just won't work. Like trying to put the square fiction peg in the round mind hole. Won't go. But everybody currently alive has swallowed harry putter to some degree had absorbed what very little there is to know about pokemon like it or not, so they are accessible to a wider audience. But point being...my heroes all achieved what they did following what THEY believed in, the work itself and their own vision. I suspect muffin values the wild ideas and counting reviews as a challenge, and that's valid (idea carnivore?) but don't take it for more than it is. More of an advice cookie than a fortune At least it isn't a question cookie.. Those are the worst. |
fundamental blue chapter 6 . 4/7/2018 What a great thing to write? But did you put caps lock on or did you hold the shift key the entire time? |
burntdream chapter 6 . 4/7/2018 Well, that was quite interesting, to be honest I'd forgotten I'd asked those questions so it was a nice delight to get Lenin's temper tantrum non-answer and to be able to sicken Lily by obnoxiously reminding her if her pedo-appeal. Oh, I forgot to congratulate you on your Death last chapter, didn't I? It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, too, so here, let me say it: "Oh my God, you killed yourself, that was so funny, hahaha!" I literally cannot come up with a scenario I would ever be able to write/say that again. Hmm, you take readers' complaints into account when gauging interest in stories? I tend not to ask about the status of updates because, well, I like to think I am a somewhat decent human being without entitlement issues, so demanding free entertainment seems rather passed. However, since you rolled out the welcome mat: Is the Puella Magicka crossover dead? If so, do you think you could sneak in a scene during a commercial break sometime? Hopefully of the glorious destruction of that universe, for a sense of closure. I read it every now and then and sigh sadly at the abandoned state. Oh, God, please don't kill off Anna Jones... I kind of need that story to counterbalance the amount of truly godawful self-inserts that abound here. I will genuinely cry if you abandon that story. Hiatus, long waits, no problem, but... I'm truly attached to that Machine. Hmm, that's funny, I just left a review at the Pokemon story comparing you to Lily, and now I turn around to see you do it yourself. Granted, the qualities that you two share, as I see it, is very different from that you mentioned since I was commenting on you as an author and you are speaking of your personality as a human being. I do see Lenin and Tobirama in you. You are very dry in your PM replies. Your stories are very cutting in their nature, you tend to whittle things down to their bare bones. The worlds you build are as often as not callous, cruel, capricious. You speak of pale burning eyes in both Anna Jones and Lenin; eyes that look into the heart of things, without regard to the things that are burned by that intensity. That, too, is a quality that I ascribe to you-as-the-author. This, this whole experiment, this strange hybrid of a Q & A fic is quite fascinating to me, in the same manner the construction of your fanfiction constellation universe fascinates me. I am tired of traditional literature. I feel oversaturated, and so after growing up on the classics I turned to genre literature. Then I turned to comics, but eventually I overindulged there too. All that is to say I've always been searching for new media to get stories from. I like some fanfiction, I really like a fewer number, but the majority I despise. You, though, you're exploring this medium to its fullest, passing boundaries I hadn't considered. There's the author-reader interaction, of course, but then there's the fact that you are taking apart original material to build something of a monster that looks endlessly inward while stretching and expanding forever as well. The cannibalistic aspects of your ever growing universe is hypnotizing. Your stories, taken individually, are on the while great. I'm really interested in them as a collective, though. What you've achieved isn't something that could have been planned out, but somehow, organically, you've created a while new brand of literature that's made my more excited to read than I have in a long time. |
