Well since The voice actress for yang basically confirmed that Yang is Gay(sort of) so it makes sense.

Its like Civil War, the team is divided, and now they have to work on rebuilding.

Ruby and Yang having two types of reaction to everything that’s happened was kinda obvious since the previous chapter, but it’s still good to see it happening, it’s also good to see that even after losing an arm Yang is not afraid to fight to protect her younger sister. Even when she’s so angry that she’s starting to push said sister away.

The Yang and Makoto relationship is something quite unexpected to me, but i still liked. One can only wander what will happen to this relationship after they meet Ragna again, Yang will most likely try and capture (or kill) Ragna, while Makoto is going to be much more neutral towards Ragna, even though Makoto and Ragna were part of the same team they were never to close with each other (as far as I remember). And since Makoto is by Yang side she might help Yang get back up earlier than in canon

Taiyang calling Ragna as a beast is a nice way to show that most people will view him only as such not knowing the person he is. I would like to see what Taiyang thinks of Ragna as a person from what he heard of others that know him, and change his opinion on Ragna after he meets him. That would also be an excuse to bring Taiyang along the journey and not exactly needed. Just food for thought.

I had a felling that Ragna was going to train with Tenjo. What i did not expect is that Jaune, Bang and Bullet would also be there, not only that but Lambda. Man that’s one hell of team.

I can see both Ragna and Jin being the two figureheads of the not trusting Ironwood and trusting Ironwood camps, Ragna never had a high opinion on Ironwood and the fear of what he could had done to Nu does not help either, and sending Winter who has low opinion of Ragna is not going to help. While Jin trust Ironwood because he accepted to help Celica in exchange for Jin becoming Ironwood’s agent outside of Atlas. But that doesn’t mean Saya is safe too, since Ironwood knows (or could learn) that she is Ragna and Jin’s younger sister, that could put her in a dangerous position, and seeing as a certain snake is close to Ironwood, that is something quite possible.

Cinder being a sore loser, i can smell the trolling coming her way already. And as I said in my review of last chapter. Cinder was asking to get an humiliating defeat like that. I might sound like a Cinder hater but she is not even the type of villain you can actually like, she’s way over her head, at least in canon. But as this fic goes on I can see her becoming more more the anti Ragna, I know Ragna has a loot of rivals and Terumi is his archenemy. What i trying to say is that while Ragna changes and becomes a better person, Cinder changes for the worse.

I am also curious to know what other characters that did not appeared in this chapter are doing, but I can wait till you are ready to show what you have in store for them.

Sad that Jin and Weiss have to be separated. So Yang and Makoto being a thing, yeah I'm fine with that. After the pain and drama between her and Ragna there's no way they should be together romantically. So many revelations being told to the characters. Ruby's got the right idea. I do like the new team ups; it will make things a little different and spice occasions up.

The champions for this chapters go to both Yang and Ragna. Loved it all.

That being said, he's definitely getting dogged too hard. I'm still miffed that Yang and Weiss had the chance to pincer Cinder with Ragna, but they (mostly Yang) abandoned that choice to get into a fight with Ragna. Theoretically, they could of stopped Cinder before she killed Pyrrha and almost Ruby (prevented by none other than the man who was trying end things earlier)

Say what you will about his lies, but he has a far better set of priorities. Hell, even after all that's happened to him, he's still kicking and fighting to set things straight. I can't help but admire him instead of admonish him.

Vol.4 Begins!

Awesome new chapter! It shook me to the core to see some of the developments that have been happening. I'm looking forward to seeing how this story keeps developing.

KO awesome chapter, glad to see most of everyone is still okay and that some are going to journey to Haven to stop another Kingdom fall as they never gave up hope. I hope to see Ragna is pair with a girlfriend maybe Bullet or Ruby, I hope it’s one of them or maybe both. Can’t wait to see how everyone will survive in Volume 4.

Your work and this chapter continues to drive me thrilling emotional roller coasters. The months of waiting in silence of anticipation was worth the wait for the quality you finally released.

As for Cardin thing, like Penny, i don't expect either of them not importance in main story throughout, but seeing either characters as cameo how they’re doing making leaps of progress on their own without impacting writing focus but being as fan-service of “checking-in” how they’re progressing and changes what they’ve done with their life after certain characters taught life-lesson they taken and improved on their own spare time if it’s related.

I’d Imagine Cardin and his team being their home is in Vale, they’d work with local hunters/teachers to retake Beacon.

Really well done research on Yang and common “abandonment” feeling issues once again. Even with all the information brought out, I’m still glad this moment with jubei and Ruby with Yang are on the same page, and we now FOR SURE Yang stance is clearly on this from her experience. The way she reacts is reasonable from her “perspective”.

This is a great concern and worries me for characters, (brilliant as writer) as i'm going to be speculating for MONTHS as this may be longest while i haven’t ever seen Yang and Ruby will have most strongest disagreement and wonders how the future will play out when they’ll “cross-the-bridge” moment when both come across Ragna and what to do.

As for a certain pair, honestly it fits perfectly with Makoto as it’s her character i described and her role. She is the perfect match as she’s out-going and expressive unlike a certain other faunus. Looking back Makoto could have been with anyone, but you integrated her wonderfully without cringy flirting writing hints OR obvious typical wink-wing/friends-pushing-them-in-directions wanting-this comedic romance scenarios. Just...naturally Makoto hanging out with members of RWBY as a group and she could have been with any of them, but right here, right at this moment, right time with right person thats feeling the worst time of their life right along after Makoto couped and accepting her previous crush is taken from her but still supportive of last crush. Makoto being here for Yang and Ruby instead of being with Noel show’s to me she’s accepted and long moved on since, while still caring, but trust (or at least she’s thought) Jaune is with Noel while Makoto is needed elsewhere..

But now in these dark times. Both of them went through a lot and needed this and deserved one another.

Now, the interesting part is how to maintaintain writing awareness of their relationship throughout the story and how often this is going to be implemented. But i trust your writing quality above most cringe romance ship pairings. I mean after all this is an adventure/Fantasy focus. You were kinda on the line with Jaune and Noel, but seeing Noel is out of action for a while, this is enough big motivation showing for Jaunes character “Ark”.

The best worst consistent ship writing AFTER they’re shipped early in storytelling in relationship and writers can’t seem to make it natural and FOCUS on plot. The avatar series, both last air bender and Korra. ( I mean if you haven’t seen it, you can skip this paragraph):

*I had almost written a page essay, but i don't want to make you read i after X amount of time witten, so i'm just going to make this short and explain both series as i’ve repeated; it’s fine if it’s related to character development or signify that character values, but throughout between plot character buildings and tension, they kept with this constant flirting in air or force drama to fill monologue time between serious moments that was out of place.

*and those to avatar fans reading this, last-air-bender flirting wasn’t all the time, it was at least towards the final season after MC for relieving from tension of it all. Korra was up and down about it EVERY season.

Very interesting character role swap/placed on their adventures, especially Ronin-Gai role, very suiting since they’re neutral or apart from kingdoms. Jaune being training under Bang will be a very positive influence and be getting proper training with the best. While Jin LITERALLY is making sure they’ll be doing things the RIGHT WAY within the law. Just as vex viewers mention, and several other RWBY youtuber points out Ruby in cannon show Roosterteeth overlooks & lets her get away with a lot of things without consequences.

On Ragna side of story, I’m honestly SURPRISED he learned something new even i wouldn’t have expected his values upon realization. HE. CAN’T. FIGHT. ALONE.

I’m proud of him, glad that jubei choice for ragna isn’t complete a waste, happy Bang, Jaune, Bullet will still fight beside him, not alone in this journey.

But most importantly, I’m proud of you trvn coming this far...and character issues resolved right on the nose.

Introducing Lambda at this point now, you have quite a work ahead of you, you’ll have to slowly but surely work her motivation and she’ll not ONLY have to find her place in the group, but introduce to readers/viewers as well. Especially blazblue lore nut fans of if her changes you’ve done is reasonable.
