Not too long and interesting Puff' Harry story

Very unique take on Neville. I enjoyed reading this a lot.

Completely agree with your recommendations on the two stories from The Black Resurgence. Both stories are awesome. Stepping Back is complete now and both it and Honor Thy Blood are on Favorites list.
I'm really enjoying this story. The dynamic amongst the four Puff firsties has been great and Hermione has been a positive addition to their group. You've done a great job with the adults in his life that Harry considers family, also. The banter has been fun to read.
I see that there is an incomplete Year 2. I expect that will bum me out, but the last update was about a year ago and you've posted significant content in your Notions folder in the last 6 months, so I won't give up hope yet that Year 2 could see completion.

You have fallen for a common misconception that First Years are not allowed on quidditch teams. Canon says only that they are not allowed to have their own brooms at school (a rule that was waived for Harry because Professor McGonagall is so quidditch-mad that she forced him onto the team without even asking him, and bought the broom herself). Obviously, not having a personal broom is a severe handicap for one with sports aspirations, as the school brooms are of dubious quality, and thus it is *unlikely* that a First Year would make the team, but not forbidden.

This question is a little late as it pertains to a previous chapter. I was curious about the passage of the thestrals pulling the carriages on the return from Christmas break. I believe you said that they had not ridden the carriages before, but there was a slightly earlier indication that the carriages would be ready to take them from the castle to Hogsmead shortly. If the return from the train was the first time they had ridden the carriages, how did they get from the castle to the train to leave for the same Christmas break? Sorry to question, but is that a small plot hole that slipped by?

Other than that question, I believe this is a great story. And I have enjoyed it immensely. I have always liked Susan as a character. I was actually concerned that there was a slight mention of Ron at the front about supposedly being friends, but not about Hermione until much later. The was this story unfolded, though, I completely enjoyed, and don't mean to be one of those that think canon is the only way to write. Thank you for your imagination and writing skills.

100k.. just the first year? and separated stories for each year? That with the reviews below makes me have 0 interest on this, which is a shame since the synopsis had me interested.

Sounded good but you lost me with your ridiculous characterization of Neville Longbottom. The idea is fine but the way it was done was so over the top ridiculous that it completely killed what had been my growing interest in the fic. Susan, Hannah and Harry all sounded reasonably like 11 year olds. Neville sounded like an adult SI inserted into the HP universe.

Initial dialogue between Harry and Susan on the express seems a little off. He would not be that forthcoming, I don't think he would ever use the word slave publicly. I feel like he would have just said that he and his Uncle didn't get along well and than as the conversation went on he might say more. But just instantly is unrealistic for someone in his position.

For a little while there, I thought you were going to completely ignore the incredible Ms. Granger... ((phew))

Very good story. Hope the follow on is just as good.
