alright! just finished this and the previous story, I really enjoyed it!
at first I thought that Rhys would be too overpowered but then you fixed that and rounded her personality with some flaws. Good jobI also share her view of balance between light and dark. Not that the sith are good or necessary but neighter are the jedi. Everyone needs to use the entire force... not just the light or dark side of it.
A nice contrast to this point of view would be obi wan and it would be a nice conflict between them.. maybe she convinces him or maybe they just learn to respect that they think differently.
I don't think that Rhys would turn to the dark side because she understands it better than most. She has still much to learn about it but I think that eventually she could really become a grey jedi.. within the jedi order or not.
Of course that is all just what I think.

I love obi wan as a charakter and would love to read more of him and his interaktion with your oc. I hope you find motivation and Ideas to continue this :D

i've always thought that some of the jedi code was rather unfair. How do they expect people to not form attachments when they teach young children to also be jedi. Wouldn't the masters who don't form attachments to their padawans not be as good teachers since the padawans would not feel as great a need to listen to their Masters? The point i'm trying to make is, i really like your OC because she goes against all of the things in the Code that i think aren't for the best as well as makes her own opinions of things instead of following along with what other people say. Great job!

Anyways, those are some...unorthodox views you have there, Rhys! The Jedi are a flawed bunch, but they're light years better than the Sith. Rhys viewing them as 'predators' is kind of rich...your average Lion doesn't want to control the galaxy or lead wars that cause trillions of deaths. Rhys has a very...incomplete view of the Sith, or she's cherry picking her snippets of history quite carefullly.

As a sidenote, I've always felt like the Jedi Council knew that the Sith were back (Yoda and Mace mention the Sith at the end of EP1 for example). Personally, I feel they would have informed the rest of the members of the Order that the Sith were back (I have a chapter like that in my fic), but cannonically, I have no idea if the membership of the Jedi Temple knew that the Sith had returned.) I just think that perhaps they don't want Rhys (who is susceptible to the dark side) to be chasing after the Sith. She might end up...converting.

Last fun fact, Did you know that the Jedi Temple on Coruscant was built on top of a Sith Temple? That's one of the reasons that Palpatine was able to cloud the vision of the Jedi Council...they were sitting on top of a Sith shrine!

Hopefully Tam's lessons like this will help keep him out of potential trouble. :) it is good that she recognizes those traits in herself, isn't blind to the temptations.

I liked this chapter, and particularly liked Rhys' lesson to Tam about the ancient Jedaii philosophy of the Force. It will be interesting to see if Tam will become an adherent to this view. If so, would he leave the order in order to explore the philosophy and perhaps escape the Order 66 wipe-out?

Yay, its back! I started reading this chapter at work...until I realized that was probably a bad idea! Got to read it now that I'm home though.

I missed Rhys trading barbs with Quinlan. Feels like he's going to drift out of the story for now, but that seems fine. We've had our fill of Quinlan wisecracking and being lazy.

Oh Obi-wan, dreaming of all the girls you can't have. Good news though, all the girls you like seem to die in your arms. Oh, did I say good news? I meant bad news.

Sidious' plan is fully in gear now, but I'm interested to see how much of a wrench Rhys throws into it. I'm sure that Sidious is right and that given enough nudges, Rhys can probably be turned, but she can probably be redeemed as well.

Re: the problem of connecting ideas - once you have a start and a finish, the next parts should relate to the conclusion in some way. Like if you are going to have a story of Obi and Rhys getting together the story elements should reflect that somewhat. In my (story writing) opinion, now is probably a good point to have Obi and Rhys have a mission together. Then maybe there's something that happens to allow Rhys and Obi to have a conversation about life, love and the Jedi Order. We know that Rhys and Obi have different views on this - it's a tension that you probably want to establish. Obi likes Rhys but is too committed to the Jedi to act on it. Rhys doesn't care for the rules, but doesn't seem to like Obi (or she likes him in a playful, friendly way). That's a tension to explore, in my opinion. Just craft the story around that. (All in my opinion of course, I'm happy to follow the story wherever you take it),

I was about to complain that not much happened in this chapter (other than round #643 of Rhys arguing with Quinlan), and then you go and drop a cliffhanger! Darn Rhys always getting into trouble!

An astromech droid. Fun. Interesting addition. And when they get back to the Temple Obi-Wan will somehow show he was more worried than "just a friend." :-)

I read the chapter on Monday. On sunday it occurs to me to actually review the chapter (derp).
