I wish this story had way more reviews. Your characterization is so, so good in so few words. The prose is beautiful as well—there are some images that I can almost taste.

I have to say that I'm shocked that this story has only one review. This is legitimately one of the best stories I've read on this site. Heck, it's one of the best stories I've read in general. I have to say that, while I could have read an entire novel about this, I'm glad you kept it short and impactful. I love the little details, all the little secrets that Bayley knows. I actually like it that you wrote it in the present tense and I love the way you characterized the demon. Great job, and very nuanced. It's been a pleasure reading. Thanks for posting!
