This is still really good. Shame it seems to have died, it's rare to get a story with Emerald focus, Ren focus and a story where Ren's allowed to fight.

Wow, I did not see that coming... I mean, I feel like I should have knowing Neo and the fact that it was a little strange to use an unknown faunus girl rather than someone we knew from the show, but you still got me lol. I was taken completely by surprise. Which, speaking of, I just realized that if I knew Emerald in real life, she'd probably be able to fool me any day of the week. Even knowing her semblance I still figured they used makeup or something to disguise her face and make her look more hurt than she actually was . Oh well.

Anyway, this was a great chapter. I really loved the fight scenes with Neo! How elegantly she uses her parasol. You really did a great job of portraying that through words alone. The story just feels so natural. Events are playing out just like in season 3 were some key details changed ;) Can't wait to see how it all concludes.

Ozpin has always been very good at hiding what he's truly thinking. Surprised and at the same time not all too surprised that he didn't say anything more on the topic when Emerald specifically mentioned Fall being her favorite maiden. I'm starting to think she may be headed towards being the chosen "Guardian" in Pyrhha's place for this story... Which then leads to worry since we all know how Volume 3 ended. Here's to hoping they all make it out alive and with all their body parts intact .

By the way, I am still really hoping for an Emerald redemption arc in the main story. Her hesitation, the way she acts when Cinder is loving everyone's pain and suffering. If anything, this fan fic has shown just how much promise there is for Emerald in RWBY, even if it isn't with Ren :P. You've given us a side of Emerald we don't really get to see in the show, but one I feel truly is there, deep inside of her.

Yes she was very lucky. Great chapter, it was almost worrisome but everything is, well I can't say ok, but maybe going up a little. Personally before volume 4 I would never have pegged Ren as a revenge type of guy, but we all know how much rage he can hold then all hell breaks loose.

Now that I'm caught up, I don't really know what to do now. This is a unique pair that you don't normally see that often, and you make it work spectacularly, while adding necessary alterations to the already established story to make it see fluid and almost seamless. If it already wasn't clear, I love the story and I can't wait to see more of it as it comes out!

Aside from that, daaaamn, hopefully Ren is an "Extra Crispy" kind of guy, rather than "Original Recipe"

Oh god this story is refreshing. We've got Ren playing a large part, and not just as an enabler for whatever crazy shit Nora does. We've got a hetero-Emerald, but not with Mercury or Jaune, and for once with an actual arc. And it's within reason!

Keep at it man, loving the characterisation of both, even the angst is within reason.

Oh shit, Cinder is here to prove she's one bad bitch.

You'd better hurry Ren, looks like the little gem is gonna need a hand.

I like this ship. I hope that Ren feels that this is important enough to tell Ozpin or Glynda. Even his teammates. If he doesn't then ok. I'll be looking forwards to the next chapter. Until next time
