Nameless chapter 1 . 10/30/2005
I'm not really sure what to say...

You are, to start, a very talented writer. When you write what you feel passionate about - whatever that may be - it shines in your writing. It's clear. It's beatiful.

I just wish I could agree with what you write.

I won't bother to go into why - I don't know your story and I can't figure out enough from what you've written to say anything. It's your choice in what you believe and it seems to me you know your options. And that's what it boils down to, isn't it? A choice. All a Christian can do is tell a non-believer what they know. And then it is up to the other to decide.

Sorry, went on a bit there, in order to clarify for myself. Anyway, I probably won't review anything else because this says all I really have to say. Your writing is wonderful. I can't agree with it, but I can admire it. You do have great talent.

This is a good poem, I like it
Window Girl chapter 1 . 9/12/2003
I see your point, but God does not want us to kill oursleves in His name. That's what the terrorist who flew planes into the world trade center believed, and that's not the God that I worship. You are right about everything else, though.
K2 chapter 1 . 2/4/2003
Hmm... I can't say that is one of my more favored pieces from you, but the pain and anger and overall dark mood behind it is impressive. The generalizations made on both Christianity and Atheism through me off a bit, but to some degree, I understand where they fit into the poem. Interesting. . .
Mummraa chapter 1 . 2/3/2003
Wow...this was dark. I have a feeling there's some pain behind this one.

I can't help but feel that you're being unfair to Christians, though. You seem to imply that they're all hiding from the truth...but isn't that the exact same accusation that fundies usually hurl at atheists? If you think it's a rotten thing for them to do, why imitate their tactics?

I also don't agree that "the truth" is something horrible and scary. "The truth" is largely something we create. Reality is just a bunch of atoms colliding. Our minds do all the rest. The truth can be as wonderful or as horrible as you want it to be.

Sarathiel chapter 1 . 2/3/2003
This is pretty dark/unhappy, which I guess I don't have to tell you . . . (Quick note: It's "receive".) This section in particular caught my attention:

"if we saw the truth, we would tear out our eyes

and drive ourselves mad to forget it.

and when those few see the truth and stay intact,

we burn them and stone them,

and crucify them on long wooden posts."

And "even when we did so hard we burst" . . . All in all—intense.
Why must I be Omelette chapter 1 . 2/3/2003
This is interesting. I like it, but I kind of think you're over-generalizing.
