Makes me wonder if the reason nick's not spooked is because foxes are inherently supernatural creatures? Almost every myth and superstition regarding foxes link them to magic and spirits of some kind.

But then again, wolves are also commonly portrayed as supernatural as well, and yet that one wolf officer went ballistic. An interesting spoopy mystery indeed.

Also, Reynard? That's a mythological beast. But I assume you meant renard, the french nomenclature for a fox, correct?
