This story is absolutely fantastic! I couldn't stop reading. I haven't read all of the previous comments so I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this already, but it reminds me of the true story of the beast of the Gévaudan. That beast reminds me of your dark beast in the way he acts. If you're not familiar with that beast, check out that history - it's very interesting. Your take on all of the characters is very cool and I can't wait to see what happens next! Looking forward to the next chapter.

Phoebus? Really? The worst Disney character in the history of Disney characters? (Can you tell I don't like the guy haha) Anyway, I'm glad you're back! I was worried that you'd disappeared. I reread this story again from the beginning and thought that the changes made it flow well. In this chapter I really liked how soldiers had been sent out to try and protect the village, but I can't really blame them for running scared. It adds an interesting direction to the Beast's character as he tries to protect his subjects even though his troops are invisible. One thing I do wish is that Belle had more of a backbone on her to quit twitching every time the Beast moves, but I'm assuming that comes later. He doesn't really seem to have the best people skills at the moment. I also enjoyed that there is still a court at the palace, I always just tend to assume that there are servants and no one else. I thought it was a nice twist. But that's enough rambling for now. I look forward to your next update!

AHA! So that's what the whole boiling water/mind melding display was - a transference of power! It makes total sense! And if I'm completely wrong brush this aside hahaha.
I have a pretty solid memory for stories, especially ones I love, so even though there was a hiatus I'm just as excited as before! And once again thank you for these chapters no matter when the next ones come. I completely empathize with "and stuff" ;-) because that's how it's been for me, too.

I'm enjoying how Gaston and the Enchantress and playing like leads in this. In countless versions (not hating) but they often take back-burning, underdeveloped antagonist or secondary roles. This story makes me feel like we've got a super hero team forming, yeah! Has my ship for them stopped? No it has not.

For some reason I think Jasper is getting eaten next.

How did I miss this! Wow, what a mesmerizing chapter! never thought scorching, blistering, and peeling would be so appealing haha. One thing I love about this story - about all your stories - is this magical almost spiritual level of abstract that you layer into them. Like I know the abstract means something but it's visually captivating and mysterious the way you incorporate it. In other words... I'm not sure what's going on right now but suddenly I'm shipping Gaston and the Enchantress and wondering if that was your dastardly plan? I like Gaston's actually appropriately directed hero mentality. Yay!
