| Reviews for A Summer Exchange Harry and Daphne |
|---|
MagicSilver7081 chapter 10 . 2/17 It's a short interesting story that could very well stood as a prologue for a magnificent Harry/Daphne story. This plot line has a lot of potential. It's an enjoyable read. Hope to read more from you |
D.J. Scales chapter 7 . 2/12 Nice job. |
plums chapter 6 . 9/5/2018 Why did Daphne not do ANYTHiNg for his living conditions? No contacting parents... the government. Threaten8ng Dumbledore with media articles while saying the evidence was already placed elsewhere in case he obliviated them? Just feels like a complete waste. |
Ravenclaw Midnight Blue chapter 10 . 8/26/2018 I agree with a previous reviewer. The way that Professor McGonagall looked at Harry in Chapter 1 when announcing the exchange plan did make it look that Harry had somehow been responsible for it... This was a good story, with an interesting idea at its core - sharply contrasting the 'away' experiences of first Daphne, then Harry. Good, detailed description of the Greengrass Manor and grounds. There is the potential to write a follow-on story from this - with Harry taking the Greengrass sisters into his inner circle of trusted friends, if Ron can adjust to having his best friend being friendly with 'snakes'! Thanks for writing this. |
sanbeegoldiewhitey chapter 11 . 6/26/2018 I like this story but I thought it ended too soon. I was hoping Daphne and Harry would fall in love. I am not reading the Ron/Pansy segment of Summer Exchange. Those two characters simply do not interest me. |
arata7kasuga chapter 11 . 6/19/2018 Uhh, well this story was absolutely fantastic! But I am not entirely sure I want to read a story about Pansy or Ron, really, as the main characters of any story ever. Good luck on it though and I hope to see more stories like this one someday! |
Monster King chapter 10 . 2/11/2018 Great story I really liked it a lot good job writing the story. |
Crypt chapter 10 . 1/6/2018 I loved this story. I really hope you continue the story with the repercussions of these exchanges. |
AaronD1 chapter 10 . 9/15/2017 I like the story, but I would go back and edit Harry's conversations with Helaine. His "all that they'll ever amount to" thoughts were rude, but actually saying that out loud while being a guest in someone's home, considering how Helaine's own life went, is quite rude and highly insulting. Additionally, the comment about being a housewife to "some pureblood son" is sort of weird. There just isn't any reason to include "pureblood" in that sentence. Imagine it this way: "some muggleborn son", "some half-blood son", "some white son", "some black son". The way that Harry says "pureblood" as though one's blood status should matter in any way at all, is out of place, especially as he's actually talking to a pure-blood. Discrimination is discrimination, regardless of who is being discriminated against. |
malexandria chapter 10 . 4/16/2017 Very nice story! |
boyrich chapter 10 . 3/27/2017 I'm giving this story a like. There should be a kudos like in AOO. |
serasgiovanni chapter 10 . 3/13/2017 Great history, tankyou. |
orthankg1 chapter 9 . 2/28/2017 Very nice chap. |
DualStarduster chapter 10 . 2/28/2017 Now that you have finished I really do need to ask this, I know you mentioned doing other summer exchanges, but I want to know if you planned on making a sequel to this one in particular, or even just a basic epilogue, so we know the ramifications this had on the storyline. Other than that this was a very enjoyable read and honestly really nice. If you plan on doing any more like this I'd be glad to know! |
Smutley Do-Wrong chapter 10 . 2/28/2017 Wondered if your "exchange/hosting" trope co-invented, used in numerous fanfics I never came across. Or if this is the first. I also thought of idea, tweaking toward a more "in person" exchange or addition to exchange of correspondence (possibly FIRST done by fic "Letters" (I think is the title) ). This houseguest trope, might be adaptable to use, with a foreign exchange, spirit of friendship & international cooperation etcetera, preceding the Triwizard tournament. Having had a few ideas for twists on the "penpal" trope. A houseguest hosting addition quite workable as a bigger twist on the "Letters" penpal trope. |
