Rone M. Daen chapter 3 . 4/15/2017
So far I really like the story, it's unique. Writing from a personal experience lends a realistic touch to writing. I really look forward to seeing the development of the characters and plot! I like finding little gems, like this, where two different genre/ideas are brought together and it makes sense! Love the inspiration and unique twist in your writing!

I hope you will continue this story, it's just amazing. I really like the plot and the way you describe Cloud and Sephiroth.

UnLike Us chapter 3 . 10/20/2016
Though Sephiroth doesn't make it put to be a big deal through Cloud's perception it's quite touching that he'd reach out to Cloud and do thing's he'd never normally do. The discrepancy of his attitude towards Cloud and what his family seems to think about their relationship also comes through.

Vincent's history is really fitting and his family situation comes over as rather complicated, which is also suitable. I love that scheming smirk which make both Sephiroth and Cloud take a step back. I wonder what he's planning.

I can't wait to find out through Cloud more of what's really going on with his rival. And perhaps what he feels towards the man as well. Though no doubt it is complicated since in spite of his initial worship he's been antagonised for so ling by the man. It'll be interesting to see how he'll be able to turn over the leaf in the relationship with his rival as well as how every one will be able to help him recover. I can't see him winning the race though, but I guess that isn't the point this time.

Hello again! Once again, nice chapter. I start of by mentioning that i noticed a few typos in the begining of the chapter. The only and last one I remember noticing is where presumably someone claps Cloud on the Shoulder but it says 'should instead.

The way you skirt around the subjekt concerning Cloud's unconcious avoidance and denial of his fear for riding chocobos comes through to me really clearly. It's both quite relatable and well written. I really get the impression of Cloud's helplessnes against his body's own fear.

Sephiroths visit was a bit of a surprise. I was kindof expecting it, considering the stories plot. But considering his bery sudden entrance into the writing followed by Cloud banging his head in a new environment kindof had that effect. Sephiroth's kick of the tool box was also a bit frightening. I know how heavy toolboxes can be even when mostly empty or small, and it's not something you're liable to kick unless you want to stubb your toe' and even less so capable of sending it flying across the room. Sephiroths monstrous strenght really comes through. I supose this scene frightening is the sheer power and decisive action it implies. So typical of Cloud to react with anger instead of fear and his "psychotic" is totally apropriate.

The scene where Cloud meets Fenris is really stiking and the word "trusting" totally jumped out to me from the get go. Their meeting was at the same time hapily touching and gutclenchingly sad. Fenris's unconditional love and forgivness as well as Cloud's inability to trust himself. Another paralell can be drawn from this AU to the original game where Cloud is afraid of himself after he's betrayed his friends.

For a moment during this chapter I thought Hojo had abducted Fenris for similar reasons he experimented on Cloud in the game. An inferiour specimen defeating a superior one. Tifas explenation was just so vague and Shin Ra seemd so forcefull in their offer. I get it now that Sephiroth had a hand in it but the story still isn't entierly clear. It's not a bad thing and gave me a bit of suspence conserning this issue even though I knew it was unlikely to be the case. I know you said this wouldn't be a longstory, but your writing promises that it has a story to tell :)

My, Sephiroth is so forcefull when his desiers are challenged. It seems like he wants Cloud as his rical. I wonder what will happen next and look forward to reading your next chapter!
Avalon chapter 2 . 9/27/2016
Loved it, although Cloud seems like he could use some therapy and less people pushing him around xD
Lyumia chapter 1 . 9/24/2016

This is a very interesting idea. Not only for the story concept in and of itself but also for it's relation to FinaFantasy VII's story. Inspite of the fact that it is an AU this universe is close enough to the original that we can all recognise it with slight twists on details, an inevitable occourance when wanting to explore different asspects of this world.

The description of the chocobo racing is very interesting and detailed enough for the reader to grasp the idea behind it. I've never played the jocky game or been teribly involved in horse racing, but I still get the gist of it.

In addition to this I also realy appreciate the detail you've put in to describing the the environment. The racing track was magnificently described and the little detail on the curtains and the potted plant was a nice addition.

To go back to the consept, Sephiroth's insane talent and insanely young introduction to his profession bares a close connection to the original game where he makes a name for himself in the Wutai war at the age of 13. He is in effect a child soldier. In jockying 13, though young is a lot more acceptible, unlike 8. So you keep the shock factor, by applying it in the corresponding situation. Cloud's idolisation and following dissilusionment and 'cut throat' rivalry as you put it is also a very recognisable elent from the game. Finaly, the loss of faith in himself may also be related to his identety crisis of being a puppet. Oh, and the fact that he won useing a yellow chocobo could also be connected to the story, relating to Cloud besting Sephiroth inspite of him being a failed clone.

To move on to the concept in itself, I must say that it's connected to the very real ellements af crippling accidants. Weather on a vehicle or mount it is a terrifying experiance. I've never been in one myself but I've hear about people who have, one in particular comes to mind, a member of my extended family. She was heavly injured Over a year ago in a frontal colision with another car bypassing a truck in a foggy night. She is still recovering. Can barly walk and has since sight and speach problams still as a result of the accident.

Car accidants in particular I've come to realise, how terrifying they are. As a child I've never feared an accident and never thought it was something that I would be involved with. But when it happens, wheather or not you were the one to cause it, it is terrefyingly real. For all parties involved weather or not they are injured, weather or not they causd it. The terrefying realization that you were helpless. The gut wrentching guilt of having crippled or taken a life... I heard about an ansestor of mine who ran over a child that died as a result. Apparently the experiance changed him and he could never fully bring himself to drive a car again. The point is, we live in a world using potentially devestating means of transport and traumatizing accidants are a very real possibility in our lives, to ourselvs or to our loved ones, weather we realize it or not.

A final asspect I want to bring up which I very much appreciate in your concept is the facing of ones fears. I too have fears, and though none have been caused by any particular trauma they are limiting to a certain extent. Even though I can face it without getting panic attacks I rarely ever actually dare to overcome them. From what I understand you will integrate your own experiance in this story. In many stories we read about heroes overcoming the on seemingly a daily basis. Though they hesitate and stutter they eventually take the leap of faith. But never is it truly conveyed just how much it requiered from them. I truly look forward to reading about the bravery to take back your confidance from someone who knows first hand what it is like to lose it. I truly think you are brave to have stepped into a car again inspite of your fear. Though many might think this action elf evident and banal you have good reason to think otherwise, having experianced the true implications of the risks involved. Once again I realy respect what you have tried to overcome. And thank you, for sharing this experiance with us so that when our time comes we may draw strenght from this story.

No doubt, you'll hear from me again in the next chapter. I look forward to reading it next week if I am able. Great first chapter!
