Best fanfic ever *thumbs up* and 10/10

This fic is very interesting.
It's guilty of a bunch of typical 'fanfic-y' tropes, some I don't care for (i.e. some uncomfortable sexual stuff, incest stuff, at least two important plot devices being references/homages/lifted from other media) and some I personally like (i.e. fleshing out what was a very minor character from the source material in a way unique to the fic, a interesting premise that then snowballs into lots of strange plot points).
Yet for it's flaws and ideas I didn't care for, it still managed to do these fanfic-y ideas better than most.

Whenever I didn't care for an uncomfortable sexual moment? It ended up playing some kind of a point in the story, unlike most times I see them in fics.
I'm losing interest in a plot point? Not long after, some new plot point would be introduced. (which is a type of pacing I'd expect most to dislike, but I adore btw)
Concerned it's gonna end up like most fics and go on permanent Hiatus? Oh, the author just finished it, tying up pretty much all the loose ends!

Strangely enough for something so 'fanfic-y', the character writing was pretty competent. no matter whatever was going on, I tended to genuinely feel something at any given point, there were moments I was interested, amused and at a few points genuinely touched at some of the more well-written bits.

To sum it up, I'll ask myself the question I always ask after reading a fic, 'Would I recommend it to a friend?'
That's a hard one. My first reaction is no, I did enjoy it, but it's hardly THAT good. But then I remembered all the roller-coaster ride of plot points, the moments of genuine emotion and the times I was pleasantly surprised by an odd, 'fanfic-y' idea that was turned into something interesting.
I would recommend it to a friend, if they're curious to see a story that can pull off (to varying degrees) various fanfic tropes and provide some interesting moments along the way. (oh, and if they're not turned off by all the squicky sexual stuff, of course.)

Apologies, I know this review could have been worded better or given better criticism, but hopefully I managed to get my thoughts across.

I'll be honest. I did not start reading this to get a potential lesson out of it but I'm really glad I continued with it.

Lincoln's monologue to the readers is the only acceptable way to finish a Loud fic and congrats to you to pulling a story of this length off.
