Wow! I don't think I can properly convey how much I adore this! Excellent job on keeping them in character. Naru I've found is hard for myself and other writers. You managed to keep this very believable as far as to how Naru would show his love for Mai. Bravo!

Daaaaaaaamn. This is good. I really love how you kept Mai present, even as it was a Naru POV. Naru was excellent as well, a great interpretation of how he could be in a relationship with just a hint of possessiveness, but not over the top. more than possessiveness I think you conveyed the idea of him treasuring her, and all the little moments he piles up as just for him. Just a really, really lovely one shot. I would be so delighted to see either a second chapter with Mai's experience, or a companion piece. I think you'd craft it well and with how you created this I am sure I would love it just as much. Kudos!
