I just love the idea that Sauron creating the Ring as an attempt to get rid of Morgoth/had the side benefit of cleansing some of Morgoth from Sauron. Good piece.

Mmm, this is an interesting little fic. I must say I love your description of Sauron's hand: "elegant, scarred...strong and calloused, deft and gentle." It is beautiful and such a lovely, accurate depiction of the contradictions you've threaded this no-longer-insane Sauron with. I do find it interesting that this Sauron, after all he's been through, would still choose to willingly go along with what Ilúvatar has planned, even though he describes it as shackles. He calls it defiance, but still, it's...interesting. Hopefully he gets what he wants, at the very least...or even more hopefully, the healing he's in desperate need of!
