In a big way this reminded me of robocop's quest to regain his humanity. Jasper has tried to suppress herself outside of her chosen role as the perfect warrior.

I'm convinced that Steven universe was inspired partly by John carpenter. This chapter reminded me of my favourite horror movies. Those gems stuck in a state of semi corruption was hard to read, let alone imagine

Your handling of Jasper's corruption not only plays into that but elevates it through her fragmented memories of music

That was a great ending! I love the portrayal of White's next move at the end there. Kinda reminded me of Galbatorix in Eragon. Cant wait to start reading the sequel!

Imagine if the petalite mirrors got to steven. He had way more problems than any of the others. When the mirrors were repeating who am i, I honestly thought I'd was directed at steven. The Crystal Gems would've all shown up in the mirror accusing steven of taking else away from them. Then Rose would appear. Them Stevens reflection would apart blaming everything on him. Sawing he wasn't enough like his mom. Them bismuth. Then the rubies. Then even pink diamond and centipeedle. It would stop. Oh man

Okay, this was a great fanfiction. Love and loss, so much heart, so much feeling. It was great. Everybody was characterized so well and it was just such a pleasure to read. Great job. And I look forward to reading the sequel.
