Rollgirl08 chapter 1 . 4/21 What a great story... :) |
Guest chapter 2 . 3/11/2019 Considering the sci-fi nature of the show, I’m surprised there aren’t more alternate reality-based stories. I loved seeing all the throwbacks to the old fics (although I only recognized a few of them). Great story! |
Jack Coffison chapter 2 . 7/27/2018 Oh, that's interesting. I had a feeling that some of the alternate universes seemed familiar- I remembered 'Lou Cipher' at least. It was really awesome of you to make this story- to tie together the fanfic efforts of so many great writers... What an incredible way to honor all that work. I was surprised that you seemed to have Cindy somehow go back and stop things before they started like that. Part of me expected to see Jimmy either go through some kinda therapy, or possibly even go about deleting his memories. This was a lovely alternative. And it was all beautifully wrapped together. I do wonder, though... Does this mean that the 'tortured-Jimmy' timeline has been subverted and destroyed? Or did Cindy just create an alternate universe herself? ...I guess those questions don't really matter. This story was a truly awesome story- filled with powerful emotions, and with an incredibly compelling relationship at its center. And you crafted the whole thing like nothing short of an expert. You are a truly amazing writer. |
Jack Coffison chapter 1 . 7/27/2018 Boy, oh boy, this was super emotional. And very powerful. You did an incredible job in tying in all of those alternate universes and making each one uniquely compelling. I have to say, this whole thing is an incredible piece of work. You've really outdone yourself here. I... I wish I could figure out a way to say more. I feel like this thing deserves more than a simply 'great job', but... Well, I guess words are failing me here. The only real critique I have is that I found the way you switched between 'Jimmy' and 'James' to be rather confusing. At first, I thought you were using it to differentiate between the 'main' universe and the alternates. When that turned out not to be the case, I had to pause for a moment and reread some stuff to fully register it. That might just be a failure on my part- but I thought it worth mentioning. Otherwise, this is an incredibly compelling story. And honestly, I could see it ending right here. I'm very curious to see what comes next. |
Alexxis T. Swan chapter 2 . 11/6/2017 I really like how you wrote both versions - of when Cindy tries to fix him and when Cindy tries to stop him ahead of time. They were both very believable and in character. Also thank you for pointing me to all those other fics. I'm new to Jimmy Neutron fanfiction and TOSOT was a fantastic read (I may have a thing for evil genius space ruler stories ala Star Wars). |
Thewere chapter 2 . 9/8/2017 You're amazing! You were able to join all of those together! |
Thevengefulone chapter 2 . 7/4/2017 Q buen capítulo espero q puedas continuar con la historia :-) |
AntiqueDreams chapter 1 . 9/8/2016 Hey-o! Nice work. This brought back some memories, that's for sure... |
GoodForBad chapter 2 . 9/6/2016 Okay. We need to talk. I began reading this last night and have been analyzing and re-reading it over the past 24 hours. At first I was confused – why did the scene and perspective seem to keep changing? – but I kept reading and the pieces began to fall contentedly together in my simple mind. I INSTANTLY recognized Fireflies and the Other Side of Tomorrow (who wouldn’t?). But I’ve got to say, my heart leapt straight up into my throat when I came upon the section in the Catalyst universe. Soulful-sin, wherever he/she may be now, crafted some of the most powerful fan fiction I ever came across – and years ago, when I read Catalyst, I understood the story would seep into my bones and stay in my mind for years to come. The fact that you included it here thrilled me to no end. A large part of the reason this is getting to me so much lies in two simple facts: first and foremost, I have always adhered to this weird mind theory that fan fictions were merely the parallel universes of the same characters. In a way, it was me categorizing the seeming conflicting interpretations of the same personality types (how could Jimmy be so kind in one and so heartless in another?). The fact that you touched on this very premise was exciting, almost to an eerie level. It is not often that a writer will delve into a theory I thought was only my own. Secondly, THE ENDINGS. The ending to the first chapter gave me chills. I kid you not, my heart sunk into my stomach and I had to stare at a wall for a while to gather my thoughts. But the real kicker was the fact that you created an alternate universe in the second chapter in a story about parallel universes which not only was a fantastic addition, but lent itself to the entire basis of the story. The quotes at the start of each was a superb touch as well; they were vague enough to give the reader just enough to wonder, yet they fit perfectly with the flow of events that followed. Have I stopped making sense entirely? To be perfectly honest, I found this equal parts fascinating and entertaining. I firmly believe that the smallest event can change the course of history, and this work was brilliantly displayed. How did you envision this marvelous angle? I’m astounded by the clarity of it, the obvious intelligence that holds the entire basis in its hands. There's so much going on, I'm going to re-read it numerous times. I have the feeling that you have just ascended to the same status as Soulful-sin in my eyes. This is going to stay with me for a very long time. |
Farley Drexel chapter 2 . 9/2/2016 Mr. Ruminator of Silence. I read your story and will relay my feedback. First off, nice work, I liked it. I really liked the parallel worlds concept - it was sciency and Jimmy Neutron-esque, but I haven't seen it a lot of fanfiction. I thought it was very cool how you tied that in with other people's fanfics. It was nice to see Jimmy explore something at Cindy's prodding (it's these ordinary interactions that are the hearts-blood of fanfiction, imop), and I thought how he went about it was very in-character. It was also very in-character in that, as Cindy said, them messing with something like the space-time continuum almost guaranteed nasty consequences. At least emotional consequences, as Jimmy experienced in the first chapter. So yeah, I really liked the interaction between Jimmy Cindy in the first chapter (the original parts you wrote) and in the second chapter. I always thought they'd be on wondrously awkward footing after that kiss in Lady Sings the News. It was fun to see them try and work through it, and just try to interact as normal, burgeoning friends/something-more-than-friends. As for what could be improved, honestly, I felt the first chapter was really tight and well-written. I felt you could have done away with the first half of the second chapter, however, and whittled that part down to a few sentences in order to convey your point. I think this kind of 'parallel worlds' scene works well in movies, but it felt too long here and I got bored. Anyway, after reading your prose in Chapter 1, I am now very confident that you are capable of writing at a publishable standard (the kind where agents snap you up and many readers pay you). I think you're best bet is to start revising and cranking out original material. You keep doing that, while reading a steady diet of fiction, and I think it's only a matter of time before you have something out in bookshelves with a nice professional cover. |
superdork398 chapter 1 . 8/31/2016 This messed me up. I'm definitely going to have to keep up with this one. Adios. |
acosta perez jose ramiro chapter 2 . 8/26/2016 As usual, excellent job. And yes, I recognized some of these fics' scenes. Keep the good writing. |
