I'm looking forward to the staff swap as well as her take-over. Interesting stuff there. And I agree that I doubt complete retirement is happening, nor would I want it to because she has a lot to offer and also because going with absolutely no job (even though she loves the family) would be too boring for her driven personality. Perhaps consulting on precinct issues or major cases would be an option allowing for much more home time but carrying on a purpose with her career.

Well I can see that we're in for another Beckett/Castle adventure.

Another great chapter! I hope Kate can get that precinct in good shape and start retirement life with her young family! I look forward to those times!

The paragraphs with Kate and Gates talking about Rick's good qualities are my faves in this chapter. I've always envied my family members who were financially able to be stay at home Moms while their kids were small. Since Rick can be a stay at home Dad, Kate can have her career. Maybe when she finally retires, he'll write that book that gets him a Pulitzer.
