Yeah, we all know how well things worked out the last time Albus took full responsibility for the school's safety when Remus Lupin was there.

But of course Snape gets to be the one to go sleepless making the Wolfsbane and spend hours he doesn't have substituting for Remus when he's under the weather.

And let's not forget letting Sirius roam the school *while still believing Sirius is a mass murderer*. With a side of vulture hat.

Albus must really want to relive those lovely days when Snape was the butt of the school. How special.

You know, I'm completely speechless. I just finished this story and... I have no words. I just want to lay on the floor and try digest all of this. I love it. It left me breathless, specially the end. Their reactions feel so organic (I relate to Severus' petty mistrustful act a lot, wow, trust issues club premium membership), I'm just... wow. I'm gonna read Journey now, let's see if I survive.

Okay, okay.. now that I have my bearings about me and I can see straight I can finally properly type. This was the most beautiful thing I have ever had the pleasure of reading, I felt so many times as if I were actually there with them from the beginning of the blossoming of their relationship to the very heartbreaking finale.. you have such a lovely gift of taking pen to paper and making it so very realistic and sureal.. I have read quite a few fics with SS/RL and they were sad but.. this is the very first story that actually brought me to tears, it was all just too beautifully tragic and the emotions so palpable, and I felt that pain and lost with them. But just like Remus I have that faint hope that they can actually pick up the pieces and start over again, that they can be happy in spite of everything that happened. I will definitely be reading your follow up story to this to see if my hope is well placed. "Alright" I've rambled enough, Thank you for such a lovely piece.

There was a point part way through this when I realized that you were keeping the story strictly canon-compliant and my little happy-ending-loving heart went, "Oh, no." I persevered through to the end, though. I have to say that I'm deeply impressed with how you've created a compelling and well-written story which is so canon-divergent (in the sense that the books don't hint at it at all) while simultaneously not contradicting canon in the slightest. Well done, even if it did make me want to cry.

super good as always! when i saw you had rewrote The Teacher i knew i had to read it and i liked the changes you made to the original. I still believe i liked the first version more however only because i read that first and got to enjoy that story without knowing what would happen :) i am actually re-reading Journey right now as well as it is such a good story and severus and remus are so in character i really love it!

I struggled so hard not to cry . . . this was a painfully wonderful story. Well written. Now I must read your other stories, one in particular.

I read The Teacher some time ago and absolutely loved every word. I'm going to start reading this rewrite tonight when I'm logged in because I'm just too busy trying to blow dry my damn hair!

I loved this story so much. It was so cute and sad. All the characters acted in character and I never read a fanfiction that made it seem like it could happen in Canon. I can't wait to read more story's from you.

Reading this hurt my heart so much! But it was so well done.

This was actually kinda funny, but... as I was reading, I lost track of the potion as well! It felt, reading it, that all of a sudden it was on the mantle. I was like "didn't he just have it?" I literally scrolled back up to "see what happened to it" and didn't even remember reading that Severus put it down! I don't know if that makes sense, but it was a very specific feeling that made it seem realistic that it was forgotten about. As a reader I just wanted them to have a few moments together before moonrise and got properly distracted!

I love the line about Severus crushing his fear with anger. Extremely logical and in-character.
I love that moment when Snape was momentarily stunned by the blood stains on the floor "feeling a pain that was not his own" my goodness, my heart!
Also, the fact that it hurt Severus to hear Remus use his last name. It's very accurate that love can make the smallest things mean so much/hurt so much.
ALSO, the line about Snape wanting to control Remus the way Remus had controlled him.
ALSO the fact that the ropes on Remus tightened as Snape's anger fed his spell. So creepy/cool...

I want SO badly for Snape to find out the truth and for everything to be okay... eventually.

I will say, though, that Lupin's saint-like behavior throughout the story is SO consistent and steady that it's kind of unbelievable. I'm trying to think of how it makes me feel... frustrated seems too strong of a word... I know that's his most common mood, but after Snape's behavior I want him to be angry, I don't want him to forgive easily. He's my favorite character, but he is the most interesting when he's not calm. We've seen Snape crumble, I want to see Lupin's emotional, ugly, human side! I want him to scare Snape, make him feel small.

I may be getting carried away, but I'm just saying what I feel. I'm sure whatever you have decided will be great! :)

The move went well thanks :) and I can't wait to read more chapters. There have been so many beautiful moments between these two to come down to this chapter is so sad to see but very in character for the two. Will Black learn of the relationship between Remus and Severus? I can't wait to find out :D.

This was so wonderful. Moments that stood out:

"And it was rather painful to look at when Remus Lupin lost control. It was as if the world were coming to an end." This perfectly sums up how I feel basically everyone who knows Remus would feel. His steady, calm demeanor is so hard won, his control so careful and precious... you know things are dire when his mask slips.

It's a pretty beautiful opposite idea with Snape laughing. It's a positive loss of control that is equally or even more rare. And only Remus can draw it out.

I feel like if i were in Lupin's place I would have also had a personal mission in my head to get Snape to laugh out loud. :)

I also liked the moment when Snape imagined Remus dead at the bottom of the lake and held him tighter, letting his frantic heart communicate for him the depth of emotion he even then couldn't quite speak aloud...

Awesome! I'm blown away by how well-written this is. Even if I find the story dragging along, I recognize that it is more of a personal journey between two people with a sour history and an uncertain future.
