ralfie840 chapter 1 . 12/24/2017 Also, regarding what someone said in another review that "it is a whole different thing to bring a child into this cruel world",THIS IS NOT TRUE!THIS WORLD IS NOT CRUEL most of the times and to bring a child into the world IT IS AND IT SHOLD BE A MOMENT OF JOY AND FULFILLMENT! |
amerom chapter 1 . 12/24/2017 Regarding one of your historical notes,I MUST SAY that IT WASN'T AT ALL COMMON for couples to marry at night, during those times!NEITHER WAS 2 a.m. "supposed to be the time when the devil would be fooled the most"!I don't know where did you get that ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!A marriage,in those times,MUST HAVE BEEN MADE IN DAYLIGHT exactly because the night was thought to be the devil's time,AT ANY HOUR and, anyway, the people from back then KNEW VERY WELL that the devil CAN'T POSSIBLY IGNORE that there had been a wedding! If marriages were performed at night,IT WAS ONLY BECAUSE THE NEED FOR SECRECY,as you alone said in your note, and IT WAS NOT A COMMON THING! |
Guest chapter 1 . 8/1/2017 Really enjoyed your story and the little historical extras at the bottom. Pennyroyal tea was a usual 'preventative' measure but in this sort of case, if an 'accident' did happen, the usual practice would be to send the woman away to the country 'for her health' until the baby was born and then find somewhere secret for it to be raised. Good fic though - think you got aramis and the queen just right. |
Issai chapter 1 . 8/9/2016 Wonderful! You described their love so beautifully and in so subtle way. I loved the tenderness between them. I liked the idea that the married in secret. It is a brilliant idea which gives them some safety. I liked that Constance helped Anne. I am afraid that there were not much effecrive contraceptive methods but still better something than nothing. I was searching unsuccesfully information on this topic but I think that they were quite secret and much of them were lost due to the Church activity. I guess some Chinese or Saracene books may give a hint. I guess that Roman curtizans had their methods also. It is a whole different thing to bring a child into this cruel world than take care of one abandoned - it perfectly suit in Constance's character. I loved the idea of Anne making a cake with Elodie! :))) |
