Just creeping in with this late, late review... (sorry!)

So first of all, I love how the fic expands on a lot of the information that Fallout 4 supplied, especially when it comes to Nora's jet use – I feel like the games lack a little immersiveness when it comes to the actual addiction of chems. So it was nice to read about all the side effects Nora experienced that would likely happen in real life if someone was addicted to jet – and also how difficult it would be to kick a habit like that. Her reasons for taking jet were nicely developed as well – hey, who wouldn't want to see visions of their lost kid? It's a lot deeper than the game's 'I wanted to slow down time so I could whack more things' reason.

Nora's character is interesting – all those layers are fun! :) I like how she struggled with actually being a mother; there's a lot of depth there, rather than the usual assumption of 'motherhood is awesome and all mothers instantly bond with their kids!' It was refreshing to read about a character that struggles to connect both to their baby and their husband, but still loves them all the same.

(Also, I picked up on Nora's “whatever I become” when she buries Nate, and I know you like to transform characters, so I'm pretty interested to see if anything happens in regards to that!)

I never really used Nick much in the game, even though he's undoubtedly a great character (I saw Danse, swooned, never looked back) but reading this makes me want to restart the game with him as my main companion, even if Bethesda doesn't like to include as much fun details for the characters.

Like with Nora, Nick has way more depth in this fic, and the way that he and Nora's relationship is building is organic, and, dare I say, fucking adorable. When he tucked that flower in her hair I was like “Yes, Nick, yes! Do it!” I'd never really thought of Nick as a companion in more ways than one before this fic, but it makes perfect sense the way you write it – I'm pretty mad now that Bethesda was lazy on the relationship thing with Nick (well, lazy with a lot of things in regards to Nick), I would love to romance him. I should definitely invest in the PC version and mods.

Danse... I could write a whole review exclusively about Danse. I really wish Bethesda included more companion banter in Fallout 4 – snarking at each other when you swapped them out doesn't really count, and Danse hates everyone, so I think that would be particularly fun. You really nailed his personality in this fic – even when he's kind of warming to Nick is reminiscent of when he gradually starts to like you as more than just a soldier in the game. The dialogue between the three of them is hilarious: "Boys, don't make me get out of this chair," and "Probably afraid I'll whack him" I think are my favourites lines :)

So yeah, I keep reading this fic over and over (so happy that it's a decent length I can really sink my teeth into) and I'm really looking forward to reading the next part!

This... I waited so patiently for this, even blocked it out of my mind to keep from checking it every day. I'm gonna say it. I love your work. Your story has captivated me more than any I've read in the last few months. (Trust me, that's a lot.) Nora and Nick are perfect! Danse is a great wildcard that I enjoyed. Keep it up, I'm pretty much bouncing in anticipation of your next chapter.
