I love how you are writing this story, but TBH I don't want to see Damon as a human.. I would much rather see him as a more powerful vampire, like the Damon in the novels, and Elena regain her vampire self...

I can only hope they take a pointer from you to end the show.

Beautiful ending should I point out one big moment. While I'm usually rather chatty when it comes to reviews, once again I find myself speechless when it comes to yours. There's not much to add to this ultimate reunion. Very satisfying, it's sort of comforting that if they don't meet my expectations (I'm not that trusting of the tvd team to deliver what we want/desperately need) I will always have this, your 'series finale'. Thank you so much for the update, as always, exceptional work.

I never fully understood the procedure - he must drink all her blood with the cure to become human and her blood just replenishes on its own? Do not remember from the series how it really worked.
That means that she would basically die for a bit.

FINALLY just finished reading part 1. I'm the slower reader ever, but well as you know, everything you write is so perfect that I can't help but quote almost the entire one shot xD

It's so beautifully written. Elena waking up only after 5 years, surrounded by all her loved ones gave me a lot of feels, specially by the way we saw how she went to sleep slumber surrounded by all of them, only that this time they were welcoming her back, instead of saying goodbye.

Damon asking Elena to marry him just like that, nonchalantly made me smile, it was so Damon. It's something he could actually do. And it makes sense, knowing that Damon and Elena are not a conventional couple, nothing with them is normal. They are messy and complicated, but they are real and Elena is as crazy as Damon is.

The wedding was sooooooooooooo perfect. My God I was crying and smiling at the same time. It was everything I could've ask for if I'd have picture them marrying in a wedding like this one. I loved the symbolism of the candles, it was the perfect representation of their twinflames status. Elena wearing the same dress she used in 4x23 pleaseeeeeee writers make this happen. The symbolism is just too much, because of the meaning. Elena saying 'I do' wearing the same dress of when she said 'I'm in love with you' to Damon it's the epitome of perfection. Seeing Elena marrying with Damon, surrounded by her big family made me tear up. The wedding was simple and it was perfect. They didn't need more. I never imagined how funny would be a wedding with Caroline officiating it and I loved every moment of it. The funny remarks and the little banter between her and Damon was everything.

And what to say about the speeches that you already don't know with my freakouts? The writers should really take a look at this. Because every word they said it's what I imagine they would say. One of the things I loved the most about them was how it showed the long journey that all these characters had. It perfectly shows the difference between a Caroline who doubted about Damon's feelings for Elena, considering they were only a result of the sirebond, to this Caroline who now knows how much he loves her. From a Stefan who refused to accept that his brother got the girl and saw him as monster, to a Stefan who now realized that Elena was the glue, the one responsible for giving him his brother back, and how now he accepts his big bro not matter if he's vampire or human. For him Damon is not that monster anymore. He's his big bro. From a Jer who couldn't understand Rose's words back at time (3x19) to a Jer who is not young anymore, and finally can see what Rose saw in Damon & Elena. A Bonnie who couldn't stand Damon to a Bonnie who now is friend of him and have seen how happy he makes her sister Elena. And from an Alaric who didn't know what the hell was going on between his buddy and his daughter, knowing Damon's impulsive nature, to an Alaric who now couldn't be more proud of how much Damon has grown up knowing that Elena is in good hands.

This was only part 1 and I loved reading every minute of it. Some parts made me emotional, other parts made me laugh like an idiot, and other parts melted my heart.

I'd never get tired saying that you really have a way with words. It's truly a gift.

I'm currently in the middle of season six... I unfortunately know how it all ends and this fic is fabulous. I'm always looking for stories that stay true to the show and characters. I love this and I wish that season 7 would be this... But I know Nina Dobrev is absent from season 7... So I can only hope she's back for season 8 and they take notes from you! I can't wait to read more, thank you for this awesome story!

I am floored. That was so bittersweet. Yo out Damon back into character! And Elena woke up! And she and Damon married... saying all that was felt, all that was held while she was sleeping... I am a sobbing mess.
My greatest hope is that the show gets somewhere close to this. And give us peaks of Delena's journey, children, grandchildren, , everything.
My heart hurts.
