A thrilling beginning, I must say. I've been completely captivated by the same twist of TVD world & this genre, as you seem to have been. It's an amazingly fresh look at the characters & the world continues to amaze. I'll be anxiously awaiting an update. Can't wait to see what thrills await.

Totally agree there needs to be more post-apocalyptic fics so I'm super excited to see this. I think you're off to a great start, I like how Caroline has succumbed to the darkness, in a way, and it'll be interesting to see how they play off each other with that contrast you've made here. I've never thought that Klaus loved her because she was good and pure, but because she had something deep within that shone out and blinded. I think you can be dark and lost and still have that light, and i look forward to seeing how this emerges in your fic.

I'm super intrigued at all the different creatures - I hope we get some backstory as to how they all came out (did they exist prior and just were hidden? or did something in the apocalypse bring them out? I AM INTRIGUED SEE I ALREADY SAID THAT AND IM REPEATING.

CC-wise, be careful of switching tenses. It's so hard to catch when you're writing, and my own fic is a nightmare of tense switching so I feel your pain, but did want to point it out.

I really enjoyed this! It's a great beginning and I'm definitely excited to see what comes next.

I'm glad Caroline's accepted her vampire and I like how Klaus thought of Caroline and her blood. Interested in finding what has happened and why her friends abandoned her.

I think you need to try and stick to the same writing tense when carrying on. I'm not very good at sticking to the same tense when I'm writing either, but hey it's a learning curve :)

What do I think? Perfection :) so happy to find so quality new Klaroline stories. Can't wait for more!

Wow, I'm actually really intrigued! I love your use of description with things like the vines and then later on with Caroline and her fangs out. I will say that I think you should stick one tense and stay with it since you have things like 'she sighed' but then at the same time 'she says', just because it makes for easier reading, but that's just me haha. Apart from that I honestly wish the chapter was longer! I want to know all that has happened, you're doing a good job of suspense, adding in little things about Caroline's friends abandoning her, etc. I can't wait for your next update and hope that you write another chapter! Again, amazing work, keep it up!

I really enjoyed the premise for this! I love me some hybrid Klsus and a Caroline who has accepted her monster! Looking forward to the rest!

I think the only point that pulled me out of the story a little bit was the reference to Klaus having a bloody mouth/chin, revealing in his strength and then the story ends with him being referenced as an innocent boy? Those two things are vastly different.

I think I'm DEFINITELY interested in reading more! It was so very good and I loved how you contrasted "old" Caroline with post-apocalypse one as well as her attitude towards her current conditions (all about survival) with Klaus' (it's so tedious being yet another monster - yes, Klaus would loathe that - BUT it's also entertaining). And of course he can't forget Caroline!

Overall, you managed to convey so MUCH in a chapter that's more on short-ish side - I'm hella impressed, girl. I NEED MORE, PLEASE!

Awesome start! I love the tone of the story and the glimpse of the world we got. I hope you get to explore the changes Caroline went thought and how something like that will effect her relationship with Klaus. I can't wait to see what you have in store for this story!
