Loved this story, amazing writing that literally had me on the edge of my seat. Throw in a bit of smut next time and it would be the perfect story. Going to see what else you have written now as it was so enjoyable. :-)

Excellent conclusion. Liam's letter to Killian was very good. The dynamics of their relationship are forever changed but they can be peers now, without Killian looking at Liam on a pedestal. They can be peers and I hope for a true reconciliation. Life has been too hard on them. Emma was great, she was strong and controlled and sweet with Killian. They will make a great team. Thanks for writing, I enjoyed this very different CS story.

I have no words. Liam's decision to save Kllian in Kabul feels like a betrayal. I imagine he does feel responsible for the deaths of the other agents. I see it as he saved his brother. That matters too, in an incredibly difficult situation. I hope Killian will forgive him or at least accept it.

Incredible that Killian survived. His strength of will, Liam's strength is amazing. Emma's story is terribly sad also. She was beginning to open up to Graham! And he left her. I didn't expect that, that hurt. It's good to see Killian healing physically. I think the three of them together can defeat Gold. Reading on...

So this was amazing! And it wasn't until it ended i realized i think this was the first fic i read where there wasn't so much as even a small peck on the lips lol. But i loved it anyway!

Thanks for this story. I really enjoyed the genre; it's not as common in CS. I especially enjoyed the perspective on Liam and Killian's relationship.

My emotions. ALL THE FEELS. ALLLL THHHEEE FEEELLLLSSS. I loved this. I don't know why I didn't make time sooner because oh boy, it was fabulous. Your characterizations were great, never thought of Emma as a hacker before but that was a great job for her. And Killian, being the strong one, Liam hiding his bad decision, it was so canon while still being totally AU. Perfect! If you ever decide to write more in this verse I'll read it in a heart beat, no matter how much my thesis is crushing me! Well done! Thanks for sharing!

Perfect! Touching little moment there. And I think you've captured Liam's self righteousness wonderfully as well, always having it bend towards protecting his little brother!

Gosh, I finally got around to reading this and I love this so much! The mystery is being revealed in a great pace, I love it! You've revealed enough to give context about the characters but not enough that it's boring. And I'm a total sucker for anything Killian injured. The idea with the painkiller is interesting and I'm looking forward to learning more about that. You're handling the past coming to the present well. I really sped right through the first two chapters, got to this one and realized that I didn't review the last two. So just so you know- it's so good!

First off, oh sweet relief - he's alive! Thank goodness! And I'm even happier to see that Emma is right there at his side as Killian wakes. Poor Emma seeing him shot with a serious head wound and waiting to see if he would wake up, and then clearly not being sure at first if he will be himself or know/remember her at all, even when he does regain consciousness. She had to have feared he was going to lose yet one more person she loved.

By the same turn, my heart went out to Killian when he started to think about going home, and doubting if he would see Emma any more once he did. His fearing that she wouldn't want to deal with him at all now that the mission was completed hurt, and I just wanted to be there to hold his hand. I really like that you highlight again here, as he's thinking over how he doesn't want his and Emma's partnership to end, how much he has come to trust her, rely on her, when he's to to close off and push everyone else away. I also love how Emma alleviates his worry so simply with her, "We'll go back together when you're ready." It puts those doubts to rest without any further fuss - very like the Emma we know and love.

Though I hate to think of Liam being court marshalled and put in jail, it really does say a lot that he went to turn himself in and confess his crimes voluntarily. I wish, as Killian did, that he could have seen Liam before he left, but it's good that you have Emma there to tell him that his older brother stayed until he knew Killian was stable and going to be alright. I'm also glad Liam left the letter, and that Killian is willing to think and re-evaluate rather than shutting Liam out or hating him. This bit was particularly nice in regard to that: "And knowing now what Liam had done - even only to protect him - Killian needed to reevaluate, to a large degree, who he was. Liam had been everything, and that image was now forever altered. Killian loved his brother, he knew that would never change, but he wasn't sure how to relate to him, not right now."

You really got me with Emma telling Killian that she understand at least a bit of what Liam was faced with, and how that in turn let Killian know just how much she is coming to care for him. Then Liam's letter was really a battering ram to the emotions as well. Especially when he says he's glad Killian knows the truth now, even if it means he won't forgive him. It reminded me of what Killian said to Emma in that voicemail message back in season four, about what Gold intended to do with the sorcerer's hat. For whatever reason, that made it stand out to me even more.

The ending is lovely too; it feels like they're going to carry on, have more adventures TOGETHER and maybe - hopefully - become partners in a personal way as well as in the field. I love that there's all that chance and possibility where both have had so many secrets and shadows and pain before. Such a great story! And this was a wonderful conclusion! :)

You do such a good job at capturing all of Emma's tangled emotions here at the beginning; it felt like I was right there in her head, making it all the more intense. Her fear, her rage, her worry for Killian are all very vivid.

At least now I understand Liam's reasoning; there was a piece to the blackmail that Killian didn't know, wasn't even conscious for. I'd like to think I would choose differently than Liam did, or at least have found a way to confess it sooner, but it's hard to say if it were someone I love as much as he loves Killian. Killian is all he has and he was going to be killed right before Liam's eyes.

But then Emma - faced with the same choice! Wow, was I impressed! I definitely don't think I could have been as brave as she was, nor as quick thinking and heroic as she proves to be here, but what her choosing to deny Gold means to Killian, even as he is being beaten for that choice, clearly shows it was the right decision to make. For some reason this line especially got me, I could completely picture it: "Killian managed a lopsided grin, despite the pain clearly written on his face. 'Good,' he rasped." And the line where Emma realizes it was Liam who had broken all those years ago in Kabul really hit me right in the chest too. It was cool how you had Emma repeating to Gold "I'm not doing it", an echo of Killian's refusal of Hades in the 5B arc, and also had you had Killian telling her "Good", just as Emma said in to him in the 3A finale. That was a lovely way to turn both those lines for effect.

But that ending, NO! I'm really glad there's one more chapter, that's all I have to say... ;)

This story was such a rollercoaster of emotions, and arriving at the end I feel completely drained. Even if this last chapter was full of emotions, I'm glad it was a quieter chapter, both the characters and the readers needed it, some time to just look back at what happened and talked about it.
I'm so glad Emma was there for Killian when he woke up at the hospital and that she can make him understands Liam and what he had to suffer, watching his brother being tortured. The letter was heartbreaking but much needed, I'm proud of Liam and yes you made me cry a last time with it !
I adore that the story finish with a talk about the futur and with glimpse of hope, for Killian's recovery, for Killian and Emma's relationship as well as for healing the brothers relationship.

Sincerely, I feel like at the end of an incredible book when you don't know what to do with your life anymore now that it's finish and your brain is just completely bland after so much feels. I probably think of a lot of things to say to you later but for now I can just say a huge thank you, for taking so much time and care to writing this story, to creat an AU where Killian, Emma and Liam are just how we know them from the show and twisting their story in such a perfect way. And thank you for having me feels so much , I cry and yell a lot reading this fic :)
