I love the ending for this chapter, and I hope there’s going to be a continuation for dark!rin :,)
Even though it’s an AU of dark rin, its still a happy ending, isn’t it? Rin is happy and that’s all that matters in the end. Not the best ending (hopefully we’ll see that in Erasing Impossibilities), but its peaceful and her meeting Obito again just made me cry ;-; And the fact that Orochimaru is in peace and happy just- ugh imma cry

This is amazing! I loved how everything has developed and how close Anko, Kabuto, Yamato, Oro-chan-san, and Rin are.
The only part that really bugs me is the fact that Kakashi is basically emotionally destroyed.. and its just so... SAD and WHYYYYYY
But she gets to see Obito again and things seem good... and they seem happy. So its good.

I can totally see rule-abiding-Kakashi betraying Rin and sending her to a tour in T&I. They certainly break her with their methods, then send her to fucking Danzo... yep, Konoha sucks and she cares not for it.

Sound will totally make allies with all the other villages, while Konoha keep getting dragged to the mud thanks to fucking Danzo, who gets more and more power, while Hiruzen just keep smiling and pretending everything is fine. stupid senile imbecile.

More and more Konoha Shinobi start going rogue, and scape to Sound, which became a kind of safe haven for all decent missing ninja, and the fact said village invest in medical and psychological advancement creates a healthy army of loyal shinobi, that keeps increasing, because this village is awesome, dude. They actually help its citizens, be it military or civilian. Everyone is treated well and cared for, and it sounds like a dream come true.

Konoha gets darker, because Hiruzen is fucking stupid and Danzo is officially taking over. Naruto is about to be taken into ROOT with Sasuke, and Kakashi despairs, because his beloved home is being destroyed from inside out. It came to a point that everyone is afraid to go out at night, because people are still being taken away and mercilessly interrogated. Their meager freedom is over, the Clans are heavily scrutinized day and night... there’s nowhere to go.

Konoha became harsher, darker, crueler to everyone, especially its civilians citizens, who under the new rule lived in complete fear of Hokage Danzo, who is now compared to the boogeyman and some even say he’s worse than the Kyuubi could ever be. And how right they were.

Merchants decide to avoid Konoha as a trade destination, tourism is a thing of the past and the potential clients are so fucking scared of Konoha that they decide to pay for the services of other villages, preferably Sound, which is warm, fair, nice, perfect and it’s flourishing.

Of course fucking Danzo doesn’t like the fact his terrorizing, extremely military approach on the village is screwing everything up. Koharu and Homura are regretting to have ever thought it was a good idea to follow Danzo, because their village is dying down... poverty and violence increased, and soon enough there won’t be enough food for everyone and a few minor Clans are about to leave Konoha. If a tragedy strikes them before the paperwork can be finalized, no one says anything.

So, Jiraiya, and a declared missing ninja Tsunade, along with clan heads and the main Jounins of Konoha decide to organize a coup, and Uchiha Itachi’s left eye is fucking twitching in anger and he totally feels like committing mass murder all over again, because WTF, his family tried to reach the Hokage to alert about Danzo in the past and look how that ended. Aand you know what? Fuck Konoha, fuck Akatsuki, he’s taking Sasuke away from this clusterfuck.

During that time Sasuke learns Danzo was the mastermind behind the Uchiha Massacre; Naruto finds out who leaked the S-rank secret to the village and who helped make his life a fucking hell, and you know what, those two screwed up kids say Fuck Konoha, we are out of this shitstorm.

Sakura decides to leave as well, because in this new order civilians are treated like dirt, their properties and promising children are taken from them, along with their freedom, and at some point, civilians start to be threatened to forced labor/slavery. Many are sent to “re-education facilities”, were they’ll learn how to be a decent shinobi. Choice is no longer a thing in this reign of terror. Mass manipulation and brainwashing are the new order.

So, yeah Haruno joins her team and say fuck Konoha, especially because her parents are dead, murdered by Danzo’s new Tools. Everything is watched. No one is safe and corruption is higher than ever, because Danzo doesn’t care about fucking civilians anyways. So if pretty civilian girls are being kidnapped and sold... it’s not his problem. He wants bloodlines, power, perfect soldiers, a perfect Konoha.

A resistance is formed, many lives, especially civilians, are destroyed, clans have their secrets and culture violated, and even destroyed in order to fit Danzo’s new regimen of terror. Some fight back, many die. The streets of Konoha are bathed in blood, families and homes are destroyed and now clan children are missing.

People gets desperate and they beg for help, but no one, not even Suna, which is so friendly with Sound due to helping with the seal of their Gaara, - helps them. Every village ignore their pleas and some even mention a transgression of Danzo against them. “You’re on your own”, they say.

While Konoha is drowning in terror and blood and despair, Sound, led by Oro and Rin start helping better the world, uniting the villages and secretly hunting Zetsu and Madara. Kaguya is a fear that makes Oro takes all steps necessary to avoid that crazy bitch, because no one touches his loved ones, not even a Goddess.

Beatdown Jiraiya and a very humbled Tsunade, guilty Kakashi, incensed Shikaku, who lost his wife thanks to fucking Danzo, Inoichi, who lost his naive daughter (she made the mistake of criticizing Danzo. Her loudmouth led her to a long and painful stay in T&I. She came out scarred, emotionally crippled and completely violated. She killer herself days later after a month in Danzo’s tender care), and a few other survivor clan leaders came all to Sound’s seal-protected walls to beg for help.

Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and a few sane Akatsuki were there as well, helping and receiving treatment and making plans to save their future from utter destruction via crazy rabbit goddess and eternal genjutsu. Itachi and Sasuke are happy and determined to avenge their clan and village. The same applies to Sakura and Naruto.

Kakashi cries when he sees Rin. Says she was right, begs and begs and begs for forgiveness. Obito beats him almost to death in anger, followed by Yamato and Anko. Oro and Rin gather everyone from Konoha, and tell them their traumatic story, no details are spared.

And many feel guilty for not seeing underneath the underneath, for not seeing the signs of something rotting in Konoha. Or some saw and decided to stay silent or turn the other way, until said evil beatdown on their door, stole their lives and children and killed their clans.

Oro and Rin kept documents of everything done under Danzo’s orders, including a gigantic list of ROOT agents, alive and dead. Children taken from their homes, experimented on, tortured... they made a list of all names and a memorial for them, so they’d never be forgotten.

They unite. They strike Konoha smartly. Danzo is taken down, Tsunade steps up as Hokage. Seems like the start of a new beginning starts, but many civilians and shinobi decide to leave Konoha and stay in Sound. After all the pain, blood and terror, very few still were loyal to a village that abandoned its people and let a monster like Danzo take over.

Konoha takes another fucking blow, but Sound is there to help. Little by little allies of Sound decide to help as well, but everyone is still freaking wary of Konoha, because the damage Danzo inflicted was a stain that would remain forever in the history of the elemental nations. Konoha would never recover fully, and their reputation would forever be the worst possible: the village that took pleasure in killing and torturing its people.

Sound became stronger than ever, with many wanting to live there, work with them, work for them, be one of them. Sound became the most coveted of villages, the most diplomatic, the most secretive, because after the shit in Konoha, people wanted to preserve something as good as what Sound came to be.

Many clans leave Konoha for good. Uchiha, Natalie, Nara, Akimichi, Yamanaka (for obvious reasons), Inuzuka... yep, there isn’t much of Konoha anymore and everyone can see this. Tsunade feel hopeless and destroyed after seeing the dream of her ancestors obliterated like that, but there isn’t much she can do for the damage is already done.

Konoha is no more. Sound is the new hope. Leaf became a footnote in history books, a lesson to never be forgotten about letting evil prevail and good people doing nothing when faced with said evil.

United, New Sound, with the support of the other villages face Zetsu, Madara and Kaguya, on their own terms. Some shitty idiot uses Edo Tensei and bring back Minato, Hashirama, Hiruzen and Tobirama, who are all fucking heartbroken with the fate of their village and how their loved ones payed the price for stupid mistakes (the Uchiha hatred is on you Tobi, I am looking at you right there. It was your fucking student who fucked everything up, take responsibility... Rin is absolutely merciless).

The Hokages take the dress down of their unlife and they feel so ashamed of themselves... for keeping the status quo and inadvertently creating the chance to put Danzo in the Hokage seat... Hiruzen looks at Rin, Kakashi and Obito, and Orochimaru, and he bawls his eyes off, beg and beg and beg forgiveness. He doesn’t get it right away, but Rin promises that one day all shall be better. The pain would never go away, but there were survivors, they would move on of forge on a new path.

Everyone is together, the battle against Madara and Zetsu is fast and ruthless. Thanks to the brainstorming of Oro, Rin, Jiraiya, Minato and Tobirama, seals are used, lives are saved and enemies are destroyed forever. Everything is fine, the death toll is small, the after care is very good and many soldiers get better. Civilians are kept safe and sound.

The war is over, evil was defeated. All was well. The dead Kage stayed for a while, helping rebuild what was destroyed all over the elemental nations, as a way to atone for the monster they created.

Life was better than before. The flawed shinobi system, little by little, quit being the rule and became a choice for some. Science and knowledge and culture and technology became the future of the nations. War was no longer coveted, and shinobi missions and assassinations were a thing of the past. Now people wanted peace, no more money for war and death, no more military dictatorships. No more.

The ones who hated seeing the Hidden Villages united and flourishing were the Daimyos, because they lost their power over them, since the villages can sustain themselves fine, with no bloodshed, and there was plotting involved and a need to regain that power, but the villages, mainly the Konoha survivors learned their lessons quite well and stopped any plan of putting the continent in another war.

A new Age of peace, hope and miracles started. New Sound became a giant city, futuristic, green, clean, people lived well and in harmony. It was utopia. In this safe environment, lots of people married, lots of babies were born, dead bloodlines came back to life. All was well.

Until one day Rin revealed to her beloved father figure that she was pregnant.

Orochimaru broke his pen, his desk, his window and his rarely ever used K.I. ran amock all over his Hokage Tower. ANBU went crazy, Jiraiya, Tsunade, the still undead Tobirama, Hashirama and Minato also teleported to the building were the main things happened and everyone was freakin out, because, wtf are we under attack? It’s Peace times now. A converted/redeemed Madara just watched and judged.

Rin-Chan was all glowing happiness, love, care, kindness and she was more beautiful and healthy than ever, then she said: “So, I’m pregnant” - Cue adorable sweet smile that old undead Sakumo missed so damn much.

Shenanigans ensued. Orochimaru wanted to know who was the soon to be dead father, who was supposed to take responsibility (but how can you do it if you kill him, Oro-chan?). Sound Four got protective. Anko, Kabuto, Kimimaru, Yamato... so many people got Protective of Rin’s babies (5 babies, whoa, Rin-chan, who knew you’d be so darn fertile, you sure it isn’t a Bloodline limit? Tsunade never ever helped deliver so many babies in one go, this is amazing).

Orochimaru became Unbearable, Overprotective, Overbearing, annoying and for 9 months the entire village kept their eyes on beloved Rin. Many hunted down the perpetrators. Many demanded marriage, and responsibility to be taken, and the compound to be extend because the family got way bigger.

Who was the father? And Rin-chan amusedly ask: “What makes you think it’s just one father.” - Cue mysterious, adorable smile, and Orochimaru lost his shit completely. It was necessary the efforts of Minato, Hashirama, Tsunade and Jiraiya to calm him the fuck down, because Rin is a healthy young woman, who can fuck whoever she wants, Orochimaru, stop being overprotective, she’s not a little girl anymore.

The Tsunade appreciatively said: “If Rin wants to get a Harem, she can damn well do so”.

And Orochimaru, for the first time ever in his life, passed out, because his just couldn’t handle it. His little girl, his apprentice, his kid, sweet, kind... having a harem. Having sex... with lots of people. He just can’t.

With Rin glowing with maternal bliss, almost every single woman in New Sound decided to have a baby as well, because finally their kids don't have to worry about being killers for hire, they could study, pursue a higher education and increase the well being of the village. No need to choose between, becoming a killer or accepting a life as a second/third class citizen AKA civilians. How awesome was that?

Anyways, there were epic battles to decide who were the future Godfathers and Godmothers. There was so much fun, lots of Sex on Rin’s part, because hormones (Orochimaru didn’t like to imagine his sweet girl having sex. Nope. Not going there), lots of exotic food introduced, games. Happy times... Yay.

Everyone lived happily ever after.

The End.

Now who could be the possible fathers? I have no idea... let’s go wild:

1. Obito is an obvious choice. He’s best friend, he’s loyal till the end.

2. Kakashi would be a one night stand, because Rin still has issues with him, but desire, sexual attraction and curiosity and deep love and longing on Kakashi’s part would seal the deal.

3. Itachi is a certain choice. He and Rin would share their traumatic experience, talk about mental health issues, and a future were peace was a reality. After a few drinks things would get heated and intense, then you know the rest.

4. Sakumo. Rin would totally go after Sakumo’s undead ass (can people brought back by Edo Tensei reproduce or the men just shoot blanks?). She has coveted Sakumo’s fine ass since she was a little girl. Sakumo would do his best to resist, but Rin has years and years of endearing herself to people and Sakumo missed so many things in life, especially human warmth and Rin was just there offering care, acceptance and forgiveness and how could he turn away from her? Kakashi would never forgive him... probably. Deep down Kakashi would be completely unsurprised, but still pissed because he wanted Rin for himself, damn it.

5. Hashirama Senju. The Shodaime was kind of enchanted by Rin and her ideas of peace and hope for a better future. Her passion for healing and improve health with so many incredible ideas. They would spemd hours debating lots of things, laughing, sparring, gardening and then one day he just kissed her, and that led them to more making out in a forest, and then clothes were off and she got pregnant, and deep down Hashirama wanted a child with this brilliant and beautiful woman.

5 kids, with 5 different parents, lots of love, acceptance, hope for a new tomorrow. No prejudice, NO JUDGEMENT, NO SHAMING, just happiness for such a miraculous birthing and hope for a Beautifully bright future.

it's year 2020 and I'm still watching this fic, hoping for another chapter. it's so good. I'm strongly wishing you'll get over your writer block cause I really really want to read more. Once more, I'll like to thank you for sharing this. Happy 2020

I keep coming back and rereading this chapter because it hits that angst sweet spot so well like damn. The comment where Orochimaru says that Rin would take ripping their heart out literally? The end with Kakashi all traumatized and begging and crying and how you wrote his internal monologue? OOF. Sweet Jesus I am so sad yet so satisfied? I am so glad I found this series while in the midst of rereading EI. Good quality hurtful angst (but please don't do that to Rin IRL I will give you all the reviews if it continues to be semi-happy please please)

Bro chapter 9 HAS ME CRYINGGGGGGG, please update the actual story

Dark!Rin? You mean the best Rin! The moon plan is thwarted, Kakashi still lives, Rin lives and Obito comes to his senses. Yamato is happy, Anko isn’t hated for being the student of a trator (well she probs is but she doesn’t have to deal with the hate cause she’s loved in sound) Tsunade understands, and no one in Konoha is really being harmed... it’s a good end man.

god, I would love to see what happens to this au. Like does she gets revive during the finale worth everyone else? or will she be revive sooner and ends up as a missing nin alongside Orochimaru? Heck, I can even see her going off on her own and taking on her own students (because this girl would probably adopt sad lonely orphans if you leave her alone long enough) and have Naruto meet this sad eyed Rin during his training years with Jiraiya. Maybe she would be in Anko's position who was left behind, betrayed and ostracized by the village but still damn loyal to her friends.
The ship teases are *MWA* muco bien! It be fun to see Rin getting fed up with her age and just decides to go on a date as soon as logically possible (like 13-14) with someone slightly older and not that important to canon (because it's less icky for a mentally 20 year old to date a 16 and up (despite the fact it's morally gross, real life said otherwise and those couplings still happen) but that guilt will be there and so many inside jokes could be made)
Oh yeah, I adore the references to Indonesian culture! Heck, I think this is the first time I read a self insert that's this close to my home country (I'm Malaysian so it's like sisters so shussssh) Can you imagine Rin making up local drinks?! When I got homesickness, I would crave nasi lemak or roti canai and yearn for it like an ex. Well, more than an ex tbh. Speaking of which, is Rin ever going to date a girl? Kudos on the pansexuality! Hurrah on minorites getting a spotlight!
I know it has been teased with KakaRin but canon Kakashi reads me as a dude who is heavily scarred by his trauma to ever form personal relationships with other people so with this .slightly... well adjusted Kakashi, would he be better? Huh, despite my outrage and eyerolling at Itachi and his female relative (I can't recall her name at this moment) and his bullshit tsukuyomi where a 14 year old girl happiness was her marrying Itachi and settling down happily and dying peacefully at 80? The fuck, Koshimoto? What did females ever did to you? He's definitely in the same category as those male authors who writes female characters as 'i look at myself in the mirror and admire my huge jugs that reminds me a ripen peaches ready for plucking' Wtf?
