Reviews for Two's on First
JanetM74 chapter 1 . 10/13/2019
Hilarious
Madilayn chapter 1 . 12/14/2018
I have never reviewed this. WHY have I never reviewed this?

Ahh - possibly I did on Tumblr.

Or perhaps I was giggling far too much to be coherent.

Anyway - this is just BRILLIANT. The level of Tracy brothers snark is wonderfully high and I love that all the brothers probably feel the only reason John likes UTC is because it has Universal in it.

He also probably likes it because it pisses his brothers off that he uses it.

I giggle the whole way through this because there is just so much giggleluciousness. It’s wonderful.

Oh - and the reviewer who was looking for the Spanish Inquisition - the Spainishh Inquisition (aka Scott Tracy) is currently sound asleep and his younger brothers intend him to stay that way. He doesn’t function well until after his first cup of coffee anyway.
Lady Razorsharp chapter 1 . 3/12/2018
Oh my goodness, this was hysterical. And a Journey mention, even!
Bow Echo chapter 1 . 7/25/2017
This was absolutely awesome! I'm sniggering to myself like an idiot reading this. Bloody Python / Two Ronnies eat your heart out, this is sketch show gold meets Thunderbirds and I love it!
FABreader chapter 1 . 7/17/2016
Loved it! You should be allowed to break as many rules as you want if you keep writing like that! Great work.
Cahaya Sidur chapter 1 . 7/11/2016
Oh my god, was giggling throughout the whole doc. Loved the style of it (though it IS illegal XP) and how Gordon got to eat Virgil's breakfast just because John told him to...also loved the end, where John points out that they were ready for launch for two minutes. Hope you write more like this!
Scotius chapter 1 . 7/9/2016
Giggle definitely have been had LOL One hyperactive and two groggy brothers don't mix well - no matter in which timezone. Do you have more of this stuff?
Agent Five chapter 1 . 7/9/2016
Hahaha! Fantastic!

I know you're paraphrasing Who's On First but all I could hear was Monty Python! All that was missing was a dead parrot or a visit from the Spanish Inquisition!

I love that because we know these characters so well, all that was needed was the script for this little glimpse of an early morning wake up call. The confusion and exasperation so apparent and making it even funnier.

Very clever. I've read it three times and I'm still chuckling! x
PreludeInZ chapter 1 . 7/9/2016
Well, all right, guest, re: snark.

I debated about posting an anon review, because generally I don't like to do so, but you make a point about my attitude that's worth addressing. So. I set a pretty decent bar for snark in my profile already, and I also make explicit mention of the facts of why exactly I post to ffnet at all. I post to ffnet because I'd like people to read my work ELSEWHERE. Only 15 out of 41 stories I've published are up on ffnet vs ao3, to say nothing of the unpolished WIPs that get posted to the cutting room floor on tumblr.

So I post here purely for incidental exposure. This is an older fandom, better established on ffnet, and it'd be foolish not to at least have a toehold over here. Anyone who considers me a good enough writer to find me elsewhere will find the other 75% of the work I've written posted to Tumblr and Ao3, because I'm writing in an older, established fandom, and ffnet's numbers and userbase are worth getting the attention of. But the site itself doesn't provide a modern platform compatible with posting what I want my version of a transformative work to be, and I don't consider anything more than a basic sampling to be worth my time. An author of my talent has standards that aren't actually being met by a site like ffnet.

I understand that this is a comfortable, familiar interface to a broad userbase. FFnet's been around for ages and I came to it late, I get it. But it's also badly dated, unintuitive by current standards, and lacking in so, so many of the features that make other platforms more attractive. And, put simply: I Don't Like It. Me, personally. Don't care for it, for the reasons stated. I'm also not required to like a platform in order to make use of it, and awareness of its issues in no way diminishes its utility.

It's just a statement of fact that the content/submission guidelines are EIGHT YEARS OLD. My summary is a tongue-in-cheek comment meant to promote interest and grab attention, because I've written a simple parody that could only exist in one possible format, and which is technically prohibited by the content guidelines. I won't be surprised in the least if it's taken down. It'll still be up on Ao3, though, and at the end of the day, I find that far more valuable.
Guest chapter 1 . 7/8/2016
Hm. Why be so snarky in a summary? For an author of your talent, I don't see the need.

It seems to me that if you're posting on because you would like folks to read your work, then criticising the the site in the way that you have is pretty much shooting yourself in the foot. Isn't it?

There are those of us who enjoy the layout & user interface of more than the other sites available. Guess that makes us ridiculous antiquated too.
Corbyinoz chapter 1 . 7/9/2016
Classic. So, so funny. Thank you for the semi-late night laugh.
Teobi chapter 1 . 7/9/2016
ermagerd, you broke the hallowed rules, you'll be whipped soundly for that.

Abbot and Costello will be rolling in their graves, with laughter. You, madame, are legit a genius. I have been meaning to read all of your other fics but I am actually a little intimidated by the sheer level of your intellect. But don't worry, I have them all bookmarked. They should all be published in hardcopy fanzines like the old days, with illos and whatnot.

Cram it up you ass, Sputnik. *Howling* John busting through Virgil's deactivated comm. Never try to fool the space baegel. John and 'Virg' are a riotous double act.

2, no, 4, right, 2, no. 4. all of that shit was so Pythonesque I actually read it in John Cleese and Michael Palin's voices. In fact I pictured this whole sorry mess being played out on stage in front of an audience rolling in the aisles. This is why rules need to be bent, if not smashed through entirely. Please write more stuff like this. It makes a refreshing change from angst and whump and self-conscious drama (and I include myself in all of that.)

GOING!
tenjounotora chapter 1 . 7/8/2016
That was funny and confusing all at the same time! XD
