Beautiful story, well written and full of feelings, while keeping them all very much in character.. I loved those interactions between Roy and Riza, the tiny gestures that only they understand. You showed the depth of their bond really well!

Good characterization, a fast and detailed plot that covers many things without being rushed, and a good resolution at the end. The way you portrayed Berthold Hawkeye without every having him show up was very effective. The conclusions Ed drew were entertainingly wrong, and fitting with his character and knowledge at the time. The small and subtle relationship changes were also very effective.

Overall it's near perfect for what it is. My only complaint is the writing style, ie the fact that so much text is clumped together in small sections over one the left. I got used to it, but it almost deterred me from reading the whole thing.

This was lovely! I especially loved seeing this side of Riza, and I think it would have been very interesting if Ed and Al did know about their connection. I also think the reactions were very well put in character. The comparison between Berthold and Roy were excellent as well as exact opposites. Great job with this!

Reread this. I still love it. I love a lot of stories on here, but you are one of the very few that puts them completely in character. I'm fairly certain I wouldn't even be able to do so.

I'm glad that I found this fic. I love Royai with tragedy, especially when Riza being tortured (Roy please don't burn me alive!). I've read plently Royai tragedy or angst fic, but this is the first time that I found Riza being so broken, and Roy's reaction is surprising (poor Elrics). A great 7 chapter fic, shocking revelation about Riza's untold past. Thanks and please keep writing Royai fic!

Perhaps one of the best new stories I've read in a long time. I haven't found many stories about Roy and Riza's past that I've like. This blew them out of the water. I love how you went back without fully leaving the present and got Ed's perspective on it as well. Characterizations were spot on. Great balance of angst and comfort.
