I like the concept, i like the plot so far, and you're defintely a decent writer. And the beginning did remind me a bit of Jurassic Park 3, which was fun.

But unfortunately, I just dont enjoy your OC.

Its not that he's too generic or anything, he's just too much of a smartass, and not in the enjoyable to read way. I know its intentional; your character is even self aware of it. But intentional flaw or not, there are minimum standards a protagonist has to have, and being enjoyable to read about is one of those standards. Your character constantly making smartass remarks as he makes pop culture reference after pop culture reference is just not doing it for me.

Actually thats a good question. How on earth, or remnant, did no one at beacon hear a plane crash, and see the smoke/fire?

I dont disagree with the concept of it taking so long for him to figure out he's been transported to Remnant. After all, he's battered, beaten and broken.

I dont, however, think it makes any sort of sense for him to go on a huge three paragraph rant about how beowolves and nevermore couldnt naturally exist. If he can't put two and two together to realize whats going on after multiple names were dropped, he shouldn't be able to go on a rant like that.

I gotta say that 'The Path Not Taken' is actually something I've wanted to read from day one. I think a alternate TPATS, and you should totally write that, would be a interesting read. At least in the sense of having an Aldric that is more idealistic than pragmatic. Plus, even though the end result 'everybody is alive and the bad stuff is gone' is still there, the different personalities, interactions and general decision making would be really fun contrast to TPATS. I also loved every chapter of this and wouldn't mind getting another RWBY-fic out of ya ;D. Also, 'The Path Not Taken' is a great title. However, I am a mere reader. You, are the writer. What you write next is, in the end, completely up to you all I can guarantee is that I'll be along for the ride.
