Oh my word, LOVE IT! This is by far the longest thing I've ever read on here. I have trouble reading, but this held my attention the whole time (which is VERY rare). I could totally see you becoming a published author one day! (if you aren't already.)

This story was so wonderful and amazing and heartwarming! I loved the way you wrote Shiro and Lance’s family bonding moments so so much! And you wrote Shiro’s observations of Lance in such an engaging and insightful way. You fill in so many of the gaps that the Voltron show didn’t spend the time to explore properly. I wish you were writing the episodes! Seriously I am always so gripped by your stories and they way you transition from humour to heartfelt scenes is so smooth and natural. Three of my favourite scenes have to be Shiro telling Lance how much he is worth and how much he means to everyone, the scenes where Shiro sees Lance at work as a sharpshooter, determined to protect them despite his illness. And lastly that Papas Fritters scene right at the end had me laughing so hard! Especially when Keith was just like I’M DONE, with Pidge following soon after while Lance and Allura are just like MORE FOR US and claim their leftovers priceless

You are a master a characterisation and storytelling. To go from me chuckling at Lance’s light banter of “I am doing this under protest... extreme protest... this is a human rights violation” to that touching scene right at the end... omg it was just so beautiful, and then to turn that into a deepening foreboding in my heart by ending with ““next time I wake you up, it’ll be to take watch. I promise.” He didn’t though.” my chest feels heavy with worry. Seriously this chapter was magnificent! favourite chapter! So perfect

I really love these brotherly bonding moments between Lance and Shiro!

Wow, this was a great chapter... and both Lance and Shiro need a hug, like really. Shiro's leader and caring qualities make an appearance here, as does Lance's sacrificial self-tendencies.

Langst is a real thing. This is very well written and a great read too. I feel like this deserves more reviews!

Shiro's protectiveness is something I really like and adore. Like seriously.

PTSD and a concussion. Not a good combo.

The setup works great - Shiro and Lance separated from their lions under believable circumstances, Lance sick and getting worse by the minute, the very smell of the planet threatening to sweep Shiro into wretched memories, and the others unable to rescue the grounded paladins immediately.

Favorite scenes:
-Shiro remembering someone kind in the prisons massaging his injured muscles. There must have been other kind people like him, after all!
-"Do you know where you are?" "Restaurant dumpster." XD XD XD
-Lance and Shiro clutching each other for dear life, each doing what he can to protect the other, while the drone ships go by overhead.
-"You mean you'll build a shelter while I nap in the dirt." - I love so much of the dialogue, honestly! It would take too long to find all the best lines.
-Pidge hacking the Galra. And the idea of Keith getting excited to tell space battle stories. We may not see the others as much in this, but what we do see of them is perfect!
-Lance convincing Shiro to sleep, for crying out loud!
-Lance shooting. Good stuff.
-"I even miss Keith." "I'll keep your secret." Heh!
-Coran helping Shiro over the comms to deal with Lance's seizure.
-The first several paragraphs of chapter 12. Heck, all of ch12, but I'm captivated by the image of Shiro tense and basically helpless in the water, supporting Lance and showing both his hands in surrender. Then he asks to be allowed to carry Lance, and I love him so much!
-The discussion about found family.
-Hunk smacking people with a spatula.
-Their sad conversation and sweet cuddles at the end.

It's apparent that so much work and love went into this fic. I've read it a few times now, and it's been in my faves for months, but I've been very slow about sending you a comment ... sorry about that. .'
